{"id":24292,"date":"2014-09-04T17:59:57","date_gmt":"2014-09-04T21:59:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/?p=24292"},"modified":"2014-09-04T17:59:57","modified_gmt":"2023-08-18T00:36:46","slug":"clerk-shot-head-despite-handing-cash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/clerk-shot-head-despite-handing-cash\/","title":{"rendered":"Clerk shot in head, despite handing over cash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><object><\/object><\/p>\n<p>An Atlanta store clerk was shot in the head on Tuesday despite the fact that he had handed over the cash in the register to the armed robber,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsbtv.com\/s\/news\/dekalb\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"clerk-shot-head-despite-handing-cash\" title=\"Clerk shot in head, despite handing over cash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> local media reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred at 2:45 a.m. at a Texaco gas station in DeKalb County.<\/p>\n<p>The armed suspect walked into the store at the precise time two clerks where changing shifts and forced his way into the bulletproof cubicle, holding the second clerk at gunpoint while demanding the cash in the drawer, said police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe clerk cooperated fully, yet the suspect still shot him in the head one time, gathered the money and left the location,&#8221; DeKalb County\u00a0Lt. A.W. Ford told The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/news\/news\/dekalb-store-clerk-shot-in-the-head-during-overnig\/nhDXY\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"clerk-shot-head-despite-handing-cash\" title=\"Clerk shot in head, despite handing over cash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Atlanta Journal-Constitution<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The wounded clerk was transported to the Atlanta Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition. His name has not been released.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe store has a very good video system,\u201d Ford said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWatching the video, they guy was very casual,\u201d he continued. \u201cI was surprised at how casual he just shot the man.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the robber managed to steal $200 from the Texaco.
