Open Carry Texas has a marched scheduled for this coming Saturday, but opposition to this protest has a twist. Instead of locking horns with Bloomberg’s posse or some other anti-gun group, the long-gun toting Texans may be met with armed resistance from the residents of Houston’s historically black 5th ward.<\/p>\n

Houston’s KPRC News Team reports<\/a> that Quannel X, a community activist in the 5th Ward, is speaking for the residents, and X doesn’t cotton to outsiders bringing guns into his neighborhood. “If they come with their weapons, I’m quite sure there will be a lot of us with weapons, also,” Quannel says.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
