United States<\/a><\/em>, a case that could directly challenge the National Firearms Act\u2019s tax and registration requirements on suppressors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if the Court agrees to hear it?  This could be a big one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Suppressor &amp; SBR Tax Stamp Blocked What Gun Owners Must Know Right Now\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JtuhR9zKXgo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the center of the case is a simple argument: suppressors (often mislabeled as \u201csilencers\u201d) are protected arms under the Second Amendment. If that\u2019s true, CCRKBA argues, then taxing and requiring registration for them isn\u2019t just outdated\u2026 It\u2019s unconstitutional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joining CCRKBA in the brief is a heavy-hitting coalition, including the Second Amendment Foundation, National Rifle Association, <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/american-suppressor-association-silencer-stache-competition-vote-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"scotus-may-take-up-suppressor-tax-challenge\" title=\"SCOTUS May Take Up Suppressor Tax Challenge\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"4042\">American Suppressor Association<\/a>, and several state-level groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words, this isn\u2019t a fringe effort.  It\u2019s coordinated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-this-380-carry-comp-shoots-shockingly-flat\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/sw-bodyguard-2-0-carry-comp-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"scotus-may-take-up-suppressor-tax-challenge\" title=\"SCOTUS May Take Up Suppressor Tax Challenge\">This .380 Carry Comp Shoots Shockingly Flat<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CCRKBA Executive Director Andrew Gottlieb didn\u2019t hold back, arguing that the case gives the Court a chance to finally end what he described as decades of treating the Second Amendment like a \u201csecond-class right.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that\u2019s really the core issue here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Firearms Act has regulated suppressors for nearly a century, requiring registration and imposing what was originally a steep tax <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/sk-customs-unveiling-limited-run-of-200-zeus-1911s\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"scotus-may-take-up-suppressor-tax-challenge\" title=\"SCOTUS May Take Up Suppressor Tax Challenge\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"4041\">designed to limit<\/a> access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Critics say that framework was never about safety.  It was about restriction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-silencer-form-4s-exploded-after-the-tax-hit-0\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/silencer-form-4-applications-zero-tax-surge\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"scotus-may-take-up-suppressor-tax-challenge\" title=\"SCOTUS May Take Up Suppressor Tax Challenge\">Silencer Form 4s Exploded After the Tax Hit $0<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, with recent Supreme <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/saf-sues-connecticut-mag-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"scotus-may-take-up-suppressor-tax-challenge\" title=\"SCOTUS May Take Up Suppressor Tax Challenge\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"4040\">Court decisions reinforcing Second Amendment<\/a> protections, groups like CCRKBA see an opening to challenge those legacy laws head-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The argument goes beyond suppressors.  It touches something bigger:  Can the government tax a constitutional right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because if suppressors are deemed protected arms, that $200 tax stamp and the entire registration system behind it could be on shaky ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, none of that happens unless the <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/scotus-undermines-landmark-2a-decision-by-refusing-to-hear-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"scotus-may-take-up-suppressor-tax-challenge\" title=\"SCOTUS May Take Up Suppressor Tax Challenge\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"4044\">Supreme Court agrees to hear the case<\/a>.  For now, this is about getting through the door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if cert is granted?
