A year has passed since the original SlideFire article here and the company is rolling along gangbusters with two new products. Gone are the plain white box with a photocopy manual inside. This new SBS version of the SlideFire slid right on the same Stag AR<\/a> from the first video and worked just as well. <\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The AK version is a bit more tempermental and you have to learn to finesse it for the same functionality. The AK-47 is a crude weapon compared to an AR-15 and the trigger on this ban era Norinco MAK-90 is among the worst triggers I have ever fired. <\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It was a big challenge to take on the rough around the edges AK-47 pattern. They are all different, even from the same manufacturer the same year. The SlideFire fits and works on the cheap Norinco, but it could use some custom fitting, which we are going to work on before the next article. <\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A quad-rail and a front grip will do this thing a lot of good, but it may melt the whole thing down. The AR-15 is a far superior gun, but more expensive of course. Thankfully the AK slidefire is also less money, even though it is far more complex. <\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

SlideFire Solutions
\nhttps:\/\/www.slidefire.com\/<\/a>It has been just over a year since we first posted an article<\/a> about the bump stock from SlideFire Solutions called the SSAR-15. At the time, nobody knew if this cool new toy would still be legal a year later, but here we are. Not only is the SlideFire still legal, it has gone from an obscure product we had to stumble across to nearly a household word for those of us who think of gunshops as our second homes.<\/p>\n

We didn’t have a chance at Media Day before SHOT 2012 to shoot the two new stocks from SlideFire<\/a>, but they were kind enough to send us both to test, and they sent another two to give away for NRA show weekend. The first is a new AR-15 design called the SBS<\/a>, for “Standard Battle Stock.” It is a more traditional looking design for an AR, and it is the same $369. As you can see from the video, Ben was able to control it even better than the original version.<\/p>\n

In the two AR designs, the original and the new SBS, there isn’t a lot to talk about since the last article. You rest your finger on the finger rest and push forward on the front of the rifle. This “bump fires” the gun very fast, similar to the speed of a machinegun, but unlike a machinegun you can control the rate of fire by how you press forward, and you can start and stop at any time. Your finger presses the trigger for every individual round, and it is something you really have to try to believe. The SlideFire stocks are not just a novelty. You can control extremely fast and effective fire with some practice, though you may need a second job to pay for ammo after a couple trips to the range. The SlideFire is addictive, and it just plain old works.<\/p>\n

The other design is for the AK-47 and it called the SSAK-27 XRS. I don’t know if it is an introductory price, but they are selling them for $299 in both right and left hand at present. We were able to shoot the test stock but there wasn’t enough time to do the video to have it ready for the weekend. The AK version takes a little more finesse to be able to shoot well. It is probably because of the variations in AK triggers. It mounts very easily on a Chinese Norinco MAK-90 and should work on most AK variants. On the cheapo Norinco the gun heats up really fast and really hot, so we are going to wait for a new foregrip before trying to film for it.<\/p>\n

If you have an AR-15 or an AK-47<\/a> pattern rifle, the SlideFire products are probably the accessory that will change your shooting experience the most out of everything out there to trick out your rifle. Our advice is BUY THE SLIDEFIRE FIRST, then worry about lights and lasers and rails and other toys. The most bang for your buck in a fun multiplier, and probably the most bang for your buck in a firepower multiplier is, no question about it, the SlideFire. If your range allows you to shoot rapid fire, and many don’t so check first, you will not be disappointed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
