I wrapped up Show 2026 at the Savage booth with a closer look at the Savage AC30 BOB suppressor. AC30 BOB stands for \u201cBack Over Barrel,\u201d and the name describes exactly how this suppressor approaches length reduction for suppressed hunting rifles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Savage AC30 BOB uses an over-barrel design to minimize added length. While the suppressor measures 8 inches overall, it only adds 4 inches to the rifle. Roughly half<\/a> of the suppressor extends rearward over the barrel instead of forward past the muzzle.<\/p>\n\n\n

Flash reduction has not been tested, but I suspect the construction surrounding where the bullet exits the suppressor will help to mitigate flash, as it looks similar to dedicated flash-hiding end caps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Savage AC30 BOB weighs 13.7 ounces. It is rated for .30-caliber rounds up to .300 Winchester Magnum<\/a>. MSRP is listed at $1,100. Savage confirmed the suppressor is currently shipping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
