No reenactments. No \u201ca guy told a guy.\u201d This one is right there on camera for everyone to dissect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kirk walks through the footage of Charles Surles, a USAA <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/ar-wielding-security-guard-stops-nightclub-shooter\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"another-wild-p320-story-on-camera\" title=\"Another Wild P320 Story (On Camera)...\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1500\">security guard<\/a>, who was stepping out of his guard booth on March 18, 2025, when his holstered P320 suddenly fired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kirk points out the detail everyone keeps circling: Surles\u2019 right hand resting on or near the holstered pistol. But as he notes, security <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/ab-arms-forend\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"another-wild-p320-story-on-camera\" title=\"Another Wild P320 Story (On Camera)...\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1503\">guards and officers all over the country rest their hands<\/a> on their sidearms while talking to people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-truth-about-the-sig-p320-continues\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/truth-about-the-sig-p320-continues\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"another-wild-p320-story-on-camera\" title=\"Another Wild P320 Story (On Camera)...\">Truth About the SIG P320 Continues\u2026<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>That shouldn\u2019t cause a gun to go off, especially if the holster covers the trigger like it\u2019s supposed to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another USAA guard, Matthew Gill, told <a href=\"https:\/\/cbsaustin.com\/news\/local\/his-gun-just-went-off-guard-says-sig-p320-fired-unexpectedly-at-usaa-guard-gate\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"another-wild-p320-story-on-camera\" title=\"Another Wild P320 Story (On Camera)...\"><em>CBS Austin<\/em><\/a> he was warned about the P320 when he first started the job. He says there were prior incidents (one in September 2021 and another in September 2024), both involving similar discharge claims. (USAA later fired Gill, and he believes it was because he spoke out.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>USAA issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/ben-carson-must-apologize-for-this-statement-says-everytown-for-gun-safety\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"another-wild-p320-story-on-camera\" title=\"Another Wild P320 Story (On Camera)...\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1501\">statement saying<\/a> both firearms involved in past incidents were checked by the manufacturer, a forensic lab, and USAA itself, and no mechanical failures were found. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SIG Finally Answers the P320 \u201cGhost Firing\u201d in their own statement: <em>the P320 can only fire when the trigger is pulled.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Kirk highlights the irony that USAA, an <a data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1502\" href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/georgia-insurance-company-mandates-office-carry\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"another-wild-p320-story-on-camera\" title=\"Another Wild P320 Story (On Camera)...\">insurance company<\/a> that lives and breathes risk assessment, continues issuing the P320 to its officers while multiple law enforcement <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/articles\/police\/2025\/08\/05\/527915\/houston-police-department-rolls-back-p-320-handguns-after-officers-unintentional-discharge\/\" target=\"_blank\" viewers with one big question: <em>if the P320 can only fire when the trigger is pulled\u2026 how exactly did that trigger get pulled in a proper holster?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As always, he encourages
