Is He Serious? Does He Have a Point?\">Left Hook,<\/a>\u201d where Lemon framed the moment as one the Founders anticipated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Don Lemon Says People of Color Should Get Guns To Protect Themselves from ICE\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pdMv5c0skXQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think that these are the times that the Second Amendment was written for,\u201d he said, arguing that \u201cwhen you have a\u2026tyrannical government\u2026that\u2019s the whole idea\u201d behind the amendment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He urged lawful adults to \u201cgo out and do it legally and purchase some things,\u201d adding they should store firearms safely and teach their kids safe habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So\u2026what do you think? Does He Have a Point?\" data-level=\"2\">Your Turn: Buy It or Call It Hogwash?<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-lemon-s-case-in-his-words\">Lemon\u2019s Case, In His Words<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Across the interview, Lemon ties his call to arm to claims of government overreach and heavy-handed enforcement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He describes interviews in Chicago with people he says were wrongfully targeted, and warns that citizens could face knocks at the door \u201ceven if you\u2019re an American citizen.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He repeatedly stresses legality and safety: \u201cGo get your gun. Do it legally. You have a right to carry it\u2026 keep it in a safe place and teach your kids\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also makes it explicit who he\u2019s addressing: \u201cBlack people, brown people\u2026 whether you\u2019re an Indian-American or a Mexican-American\u2026 go out\u2026 and get a gun legally, get a license to carry legally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-shock-to-the-narrative\">A Shock to the Narrative<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Coming from a media figure long painted as anti-gun by many on the right, that\u2019s a plot twist. It echoes a deeper American tradition: when communities feel targeted or abandoned, they often turn to self-reliance, including lawful armed self-defense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t have to agree with Lemon\u2019s broader politics to recognize that more Americans across the spectrum are saying, \u201cIf it\u2019s my safety, it\u2019s my responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-part-gun-owners-will-cheer-and-question\">The Part Gun Owners Will Cheer (and Question)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Plenty here will resonate with 2A folks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He says buy legally, carry legally, and be safe.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He frames the Second Amendment as a check on government excess.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He tells new gun owners to learn and store responsibly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>But there\u2019s a fair question for readers: is this a durable shift or a momentary stance because the \u201cwrong\u201d side is in charge? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Would Lemon back the same rights when the politics flip, or when gun control bills return dressed up as \u201ccommon sense\u201d? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/glock-confirms-v-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"don-lemon-go-buy-a-gun\" title=\"Don Lemon Says 'Go Buy a Gun.'
