In a notice sent to moderators this week, the platform announced new restrictions to Rule 7, taking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Firearms\/comments\/1o0qsfe\/reddit_has_banned_user_sales_of_all_firearm_parts\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"reddit-to-ban-all-firearm-part-sales\" title=\"Reddit to Ban All Firearm Part Sales\">effect<\/a> October 9, 2025, that will ban all user-to-user sales of firearm parts and enhancements \u2014 including optics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"reddit-embed-bq\" style=\"height:500px\" data-embed-height=\"740\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Firearms\/comments\/1o0qsfe\/reddit_has_banned_user_sales_of_all_firearm_parts\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"reddit-to-ban-all-firearm-part-sales\" title=\"Reddit to Ban All Firearm Part Sales\">Reddit has banned user sales of all firearm parts and \u201cenhancements\u201d<\/a><br \/> by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/user\/kefefs_v2\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"reddit-to-ban-all-firearm-part-sales\" title=\"Reddit to Ban All Firearm Part Sales\">u\/kefefs_v2<\/a> in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Firearms\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"reddit-to-ban-all-firearm-part-sales\" title=\"Reddit to Ban All Firearm Part Sales\">Firearms<\/a><\/blockquote><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.reddit.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"UTF-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The change expands the existing rule against facilitating gun and ammo sales to now include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Firearms parts and enhancements<\/strong> (bolts, triggers, magazines, suppressors, conversion kits, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Specific instructions or files<\/strong> for making those parts (like 3D printing).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That means major trading subs such as r\/GunAccessoriesForSale \u2014 long a popular exchange hub for optics, triggers, and other upgrades \u2014 are effectively dead. Mods have already locked the subreddit and plan to post farewell statements before Reddit\u2019s admins shut it down.
