The court found both inconsistent with the nation\u2019s historical tradition of firearm regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In plain terms: there is no historical analogue that allows the government to strip Americans of their right to bear arms simply for visiting the local post office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-vortex-venom-enclosed-micro-red-dot-review\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/vortex-venom-enclosed-micro-red-dot-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"post-office-gun-ban-struck-down\" title=\"Post Office Gun Ban Struck Down\">Vortex Venom Enclosed Micro Red Dot Review<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Court determines that both 18 U.S.C. \u00a7 930(a) and 39 C.F.R. \u00a7 232.1(1) are inconsistent with the principles that underpin this Nation\u2019s regulatory tradition,\u201d the opinion stated. \u201cThus, they are unconstitutional as-applied to carrying firearms inside an ordinary post office or on post office property.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMillions of people across the country visit the U.S. Post Office as part of their daily routine,\u201d said SAF Executive Director Adam Kraut. \u201cThere is no historical tradition of banning firearms at post offices, and peaceable Americans should not be forced to choose between using basic postal services and exercising their rights. Gottlieb echoed that point: \u201cThere is no historical analogue to justify a ban on carrying a firearm on postal property, and we are pleased the court rightly saw through this thinly veiled attempt at preventing citizens from fully exercising their constitutional rights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The case, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.nationbuilder.com\/firearmspolicycoalition\/pages\/7502\/attachments\/original\/1759265414\/35_summary_judgment_order.pdf?1759265414\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"post-office-gun-ban-struck-down\" title=\"Post Office Gun Ban Struck Down\">FPC v.
