Another courtroom battle over the SIG SAUER P320 is officially over, and it\u2019s another win for the gunmaker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A federal judge in North Carolina dismissed a lawsuit claiming the P320 discharged without the trigger being pulled, siding squarely with SIG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This case, filed by a plaintiff named Williams, dragged on for more than five years. But when it came down to the facts, the court found the plaintiff\u2019s case had nothing to stand on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The judge ruled that Williams\u2019 liability experts weren\u2019t qualified to testify on the pistol\u2019s design, and the opinions they did provide were unreliable. Without credible expert testimony, the lawsuit collapsed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SIG\u2019s outside counsel, Kristen Dennison of Littleton Joyce Ughetta & Kelly LLP, hat this to say after the ruling: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are both pleased and unsurprised that accusations concerning the P320 firing without a trigger pull have once again proven to be unfounded in the court of law.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

That \u201conce again\u201d is key. Nearly twenty separate P320-related cases have now been dismissed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each time, courts have leaned on the evidence presented showing that the P320 doesn\u2019t just fire on its own. In every round of litigation, claims of spontaneous discharges fail to hold up under scrutiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
