Shotgun-making behemoth Mossberg is moving more Jobs to the Lone Star State, according to a recent Forbes article<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re moving all wood gun stock production to our Texas facility. More of our product lines\u2014like our modern sporting rifles\u2014might move to Texas in the future,” Tom Taylor, O.F. Mossberg & Sons\u2019 senior vice president, sales & marketing, told Forbes.<\/p>\n

“Texas has been very good to us,” Taylor continued. “Also, our gun sales have been so dynamic over the last number of years. We\u2019ve outgrown our facilities. This major expansion will help us keep up with demand.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following sweeping changes to Connecticut’s gun laws in the wake of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Mossberg opted to uproot much of its production from The Constitution State and built a new 116,000 square-foot facility in Eagle Pass, Texas.<\/p>\n

Now, the country’s largest shotgun producer manufactures over 90 percent of its firearms in Texas, though its headquarters are still in North Haven, Connecticut.<\/p>\n
