A tax that\u2019s been punishing lawful firearm <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/update-make-that-25-million-new-first-time-gun-owners-since-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"suppressor-tax-cut-advances\" title=\"Suppressor Tax Cut Advances\u2014But It\u2019s Not Enough!\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"592\">owners since<\/a> 1934 could finally be eliminated. But here\u2019s the catch\u2014suppressors would still remain under the unconstitutional shackles of the NFA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John Commerford, Executive Director of NRA-ILA, made the NRA\u2019s position crystal clear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe NRA fully supports <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/texas-passes-bill-to-remove-nfa-suppressor-requirements-for-made-in-texas-cans\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"suppressor-tax-cut-advances\" title=\"Suppressor Tax Cut Advances\u2014But It\u2019s Not Enough!\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"593\">removal of suppressors from the NFA<\/a> and will work to achieve that goal as the Reconciliation Process continues.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn\u2019t just about tax relief. It\u2019s about restoring rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suppressors\u2014legal in 42 states\u2014protect hearing, reduce recoil, and increase range safety. Yet the federal government continues to treat them like <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/search?keyword=machine%20guns\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"suppressor-tax-cut-advances\" title=\"Suppressor Tax Cut Advances\u2014But It\u2019s Not Enough!\">machine guns<\/a>, demanding lengthy ATF approval processes, fingerprints, photographs, and\u2014until now\u2014a $200 tax stamp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-the-590a1-compact-cruiser\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/the-590a1-compact-cruiser\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"suppressor-tax-cut-advances\" title=\"Suppressor Tax Cut Advances\u2014But It\u2019s Not Enough!\">The 590A1 Compact Cruiser<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Reconciliation Bill could be our ticket out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of the special rules surrounding budget reconciliation, this bill only needs a simple majority vote in both the House and Senate. That means there\u2019s a real opportunity to go beyond the suppressor tax cut and strip suppressors from the NFA completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How? By adding Section 2 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/404\/text\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"suppressor-tax-cut-advances\" title=\"Suppressor Tax Cut Advances\u2014But It\u2019s Not Enough!\">Hearing Protection Act<\/a>\u2014the part that removes suppressors from the NFA entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Congress moves fast\u2014and if gun owners sit on their hands, we could miss this window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s what you need to do right now:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udcde Call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121. Ask to speak to your U.S. Representative. Tell them to support adding Section 2 of the Hearing Protection Act to the Reconciliation Bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the best shot we\u2019ve had in years to get suppressors out of the NFA.
