DOJ intervened <em>after<\/em> the original complaint, piggybacking off New York\u2019s lawsuit as if it had been there all along. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, this month, those same Biden-era lawyers filed new briefs claiming that the Supreme Court\u2019s <em>Vanderstok<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/24pdf\/23-852_c07d.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-holdovers-weaponize-ruling-to-crush-gun-industry\" title=\"Biden Holdovers Weaponize Ruling to Crush Gun Industry\">ruling<\/a> gives them all the retroactive authority they need to hammer the industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-sk-customs-releases-solo-lobo\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/sk-customs-releases-solo-lobo\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-holdovers-weaponize-ruling-to-crush-gun-industry\" title=\"Biden Holdovers Weaponize Ruling to Crush Gun Industry\">SK Customs Releases \u2018SOLO LOBO\u2019<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Never mind that <em>Vanderstok<\/em> is being widely criticized as a constitutional misstep \u2014 they&#8217;re using it anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Ben explained, this is a naked attempt to \u201cravage the firearms industry\u201d by holding gun sellers liable for products that were entirely legal at the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s legal warfare at its worst \u2014 and it\u2019s happening under a DOJ now headed by <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/ccrkba-to-bondi-2a-task-force-should-target-12-anti-gun-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-holdovers-weaponize-ruling-to-crush-gun-industry\" title=\"Biden Holdovers Weaponize Ruling to Crush Gun Industry\">AG Pam Bondi<\/a>, who\u2019s promised to protect the Second Amendment. Yet somehow, Biden&#8217;s holdovers are still fighting the last administration\u2019s battles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOA is calling for answers. Why is the DOJ still listed as a plaintiff in this case? Why hasn\u2019t it withdrawn from the lawsuit? And, why are rogue anti-gun lawyers still running wild inside the DOJ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bottom line: this is lawfare \u2014 a political hit job disguised as legal action \u2014 and it\u2019s proof that simply changing leadership isn\u2019t enough.
