James<\/a><\/em>, a case that directly challenged New York\u2019s controversial gun control measures passed after the landmark <em>Bruen<\/em> decision in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Supreme Court Declines to Hear Challenge to New York&#039;s Gun Laws\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nySCC-Aqigo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those keeping score, <em>Bruen<\/em> was supposed to slam the door shut on arbitrary carry restrictions by requiring gun laws to align with the nation\u2019s historical tradition. But New York lawmakers didn\u2019t seem to get the memo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, they passed the Concealed Carry Improvement Act (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.news10.com\/news\/ny-news\/judge-disarms-ny-concealed-carry-improvement-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"moral-character-gun-law-stands-for-now\" title=\"\u2018Moral Character\u2019 Gun Law Stands\u2014for Now\">CCIA<\/a>), which introduced vague requirements like \u201cgood moral character\u201d and created an expansive list of so-called \u201csensitive places\u201d where lawful carry is prohibited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-saint-victor-pistol-in-5-56mm\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/saint-victor-pistol-in-5-56mm\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"moral-character-gun-law-stands-for-now\" title=\"\u2018Moral Character\u2019 Gun Law Stands\u2014for Now\">SAINT Victor Pistol in 5.56mm<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Second Amendment advocates quickly pounced on the law, arguing it was a backdoor attempt to repackage the same unconstitutional restrictions the Court just struck down. But with Monday\u2019s denial of certiorari, the high court is leaving the issue in the hands of lower courts for now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is disappointing,\u201d said many pro-2A voices, concerned the Court&#8217;s silence will encourage states like New York to continue testing the limits of <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/national-constitutional-carry-act-introduced\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"moral-character-gun-law-stands-for-now\" title=\"\u2018Moral Character\u2019 Gun Law Stands\u2014for Now\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"743\">constitutional carry<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8BREAKING\ud83d\udea8 \u2070\u2070Supreme Court DENIES certiorari on our lawsuit Antonyuk v.
