From the first impression, the rifle\u2019s insanely lightweight build stands out. Weighing just 3.5 lbs, it feels almost like a feather in hand\u2014even with a suppressor and red dot mounted, the rifle remains highly maneuverable and easy to control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-stock-amp-ergonomics\">Stock &amp; Ergonomics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ruger opted for a Magpul MOE X-22 stock, which enhances the rifle\u2019s versatility and modernizes its feel. The TSP texture on the pistol grip provides a non-slip surface. Featuring a more vertical grip angle&nbsp;is&nbsp;also a modern take. There is a bit of takeup before hitting a very mushy and undefined wall. However, simply applying gradual pressure will eventually lead to a clean break. I measured the pull weight consistently between 2.5-3 lbs, which is a solid factory trigger weight. After the break, there is a short reset which puts the trigger right back on the &#8220;wall&#8221; ready to go again. The heat-stabilized, glass-filled polymer trigger housing is designed to&nbsp;be resistant to&nbsp;impact and avoid abrasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-10-22-carbon-fiber-barrel\">10\/22 Carbon Fiber Barrel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the heart of this rifle is the&nbsp;16.1&#8243; cold hammer-forged, tensioned stainless steel barrel wrapped in a carbon fiber sleeve. This design&nbsp;significantly&nbsp;reduces weight while increasing rigidity, helping minimize barrel vibration for improved accuracy. Additionally, the&nbsp;threaded 1\/2&#8243;-28 muzzle&nbsp;allows for easy attachment of suppressors or other muzzle devices. One standout feature is how well the barrel manages heat. For this review, I ordered some ammo, and within just a few days it was on my doorstep. Easy to use online website, insanely quick shipping, and competitive prices.&nbsp;Go check them out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For precision testing, I shot 5-round groups from 50 yards using a variety of .22 LR ammunition.&nbsp;The rifle could shoot sub-MOA groups with the right ammo. However, varying types of 22 ammunition achieve a wide range of results. For a lightweight 10\/22, these results are plenty acceptable for me. Each box of ammo placed next to its respective group<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-performance-of-the-10-22-carbon-fiber\">Performance Of the 10\/22 Carbon Fiber<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I shot this rifle&nbsp;suppressed for almost the entire review, which is worth mentioning because&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/search?keyword=.22%20lr\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"ultralight-ruger-10-22-carbon-fiber-review\" title=\"Ultralight Ruger 10\/22 Carbon Fiber Review\">.22&nbsp;LR<\/a> is notoriously dirty when suppressed. Partially for this reason, I had quite a few issues with jamming, but mostly failure to extract spent casings. Some&nbsp;of the&nbsp;jamming issues could be attributed to carbon buildup, but the chamber tolerance felt&nbsp;excessively tight.&nbsp;After about 150 rounds, carbon fouling became severe enough that spent casings would stick in the chamber, requiring a knife or flathead screwdriver to pry them out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_8970-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"chamber of a rifle with .22 shell stuck\" class=\"wp-image-213471\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_8970-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_8970-400x266.jpg 400w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_8970-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_8970-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_8970.jpg 1524w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">After about 150 rounds without cleaning, I continued to have failures to eject. Despite looking like it would be easy to pull out, these rounds were still stuck tight in the chamber<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Subsonic ammunition never cycled, and I believe the friction in the chamber was completely to blame. A stronger extractor may have helped, but the chamber&nbsp;itself&nbsp;seemed tighter than most. I\u2019ve shot many suppressed 10\/22s, and I haven\u2019t had this much trouble before, so I suspect this particular barrel was on the minimum side of an acceptable tolerance. The Magpul MOE X-22 stock, BX-Trigger, and tensioned carbon fiber barrel all contribute to a sleek, accurate, and highly maneuverable platform. However, with the rifle I received, the&nbsp;tight chamber can cause issues with carbon buildup. Mine also would not reliably cycle subsonic ammunition.
