Gavin Newsom to discourage Californians from exercising their constitutional right to bear arms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt what point do Californians tell lawmakers in Sacramento they\u2019ve had enough of Democrats\u2019 dishonest demagoguery?\u201d Gottlieb asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We know exactly what Donald Trump intends to do in his second term \u2014 and California is preparing for that. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/B5ABpS1KHj\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"what-do-you-think-of-californias-new-gun-buyer-pamphlet-mandate\" title=\"What Do You Think of California's New Gun Buyer Pamphlet Mandate?\">pic.twitter.com\/B5ABpS1KHj<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Governor Newsom (@CAgovernor) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CAgovernor\/status\/1875599419304783916?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"what-do-you-think-of-californias-new-gun-buyer-pamphlet-mandate\" title=\"What Do You Think of California's New Gun Buyer Pamphlet Mandate?\">January 4, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gottlieb pointed out the hypocrisy in <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/fbi-caught-targeting-gun-owners\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"what-do-you-think-of-californias-new-gun-buyer-pamphlet-mandate\" title=\"What Do You Think of California's New Gun Buyer Pamphlet Mandate?\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3384\">targeting gun<\/a> ownership while ignoring other common risks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhy not force car dealers to provide a pamphlet to each customer, telling them about the dangers of driving? Owning a car, especially in California, is more dangerous than owning a gun,\u201d he argued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-armed-texan-shoots-12-year-old-robbers\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/armed-texan-shoots-12-year-old-robbers\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"what-do-you-think-of-californias-new-gun-buyer-pamphlet-mandate\" title=\"What Do You Think of California's New Gun Buyer Pamphlet Mandate?\">Armed Texan Shoots 12-Year-Old Robbers<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>He backed up his point with statistics, noting that in 2023, California saw 4,013 traffic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presstelegram.com\/2025\/01\/03\/california-sees-drop-in-crashes-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"what-do-you-think-of-californias-new-gun-buyer-pamphlet-mandate\" title=\"What Do You Think of California's New Gun Buyer Pamphlet Mandate?\">fatalities<\/a> compared to 3,208 gun-related <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrace.org\/2024\/08\/gun-deaths-cdc-data-homicide-suicide\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"what-do-you-think-of-californias-new-gun-buyer-pamphlet-mandate\" title=\"What Do You Think of California's New Gun Buyer Pamphlet Mandate?\">deaths<\/a>. Despite these numbers, car dealerships face no similar mandates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gottlieb emphasized that gun ownership is a constitutional right, while owning a car is not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll this proves Gavin Newsom and his Democrat colleagues aren\u2019t really interested in <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/bus-stop-attack-in-israel-shows-why-armed-citizens-save-lives\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"what-do-you-think-of-californias-new-gun-buyer-pamphlet-mandate\" title=\"What Do You Think of California's New Gun Buyer Pamphlet Mandate?\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3385\">saving lives<\/a>. They\u2019re interested in reducing gun ownership by discouraging people from buying guns, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/bill-would-force-gun-dealers-to-sell-smart-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"what-do-you-think-of-californias-new-gun-buyer-pamphlet-mandate\" title=\"What Do You Think of California's New Gun Buyer Pamphlet Mandate?\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3383\">forcing gun dealers<\/a> to act as their surrogates in the process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For pro-2A advocates, this law represents yet another example of legislative overreach aimed at stigmatizing gun ownership rather than addressing real issues of public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>At least that&#8217;s our take.
