He claimed the homeowner fired at his vehicle without provocation, possibly striking the girl in the backseat.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the deputy\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/body-cam-footage-released-of-fatal-texas-police-shooting\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"homeowner-protected-by-stand-your-ground-after-neighborhood-shootout\" title=\"Homeowner Protected By Stand Your Ground After Neighborhood Shootout\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3629\">body cam footage<\/a>, Wilson admitted to shooting at the homeowner. He claimed his actions during the shootout were in self-defense.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deputy arrested Wilson and stayed with the car until an ambulance arrived to take the injured girl to the hospital. She received a bullet wound to the side.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-did-what\">Who Did What?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not entirely sure whether the bullet that struck the girl was fired by the gentleman with the rifle or the gentleman inside the vehicle,\u201d Aaron Brilbeck, of the Oklahoma <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/los-angeles-county-sheriffs-office-playing-favorites-gun-permits\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"homeowner-protected-by-stand-your-ground-after-neighborhood-shootout\" title=\"Homeowner Protected By Stand Your Ground After Neighborhood Shootout\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3630\">County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/a>, said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wilson faces charges including \u201cassault and battery with a dangerous weapon&#8221; and &#8220;discharging a weapon from a vehicle,&#8221; according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/fb.watch\/w5PCa3y6ph\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"homeowner-protected-by-stand-your-ground-after-neighborhood-shootout\" title=\"Homeowner Protected By Stand Your Ground After Neighborhood Shootout\">police report<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>READ MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/homeowner-shoots-intruder-after-neighbors-hear-screams\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"homeowner-protected-by-stand-your-ground-after-neighborhood-shootout\" title=\"Homeowner Protected By Stand Your Ground After Neighborhood Shootout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Homeowner Shoots Intruder After Neighbors Hear Screams<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The homeowner has not received any charges yet. The homeowner argues that he was on his property, defending it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUnder the Stand Your Ground law, it appears as though he was okay in shooting when he did shoot,\u201d Brilbeck said, as reported by<a href=\"https:\/\/kfor.com\/news\/local\/neighbor-dispute-in-okla-co-leads-to-gunfire-one-person-injured\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" <em>KFOR<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oklahoma&#8217;s Stand Your Ground law permits individuals to use force, including deadly force, to defend themselves on their property if they reasonably believe they are under threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police reiterated in their report that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be filed as new evidence is uncovered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
