Gottlieb made it clear: \u201cHawaii has essentially decided the Second Amendment doesn\u2019t apply in that state, and they can\u2019t be allowed to get away with it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gottlieb emphasized the role of the Fourteenth Amendment, which prevents states from infringing on rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese prohibitions simply cannot be allowed to stand,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-s-next\">What\u2019s Next?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the federal lawsuit, attorneys representing SAF and its partners have filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/saf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Pinales-MPI-Brief.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"saf-challenges-hawaiis-gun-ban-for-young-adults\" title=\"SAF Challenges Hawaii's Gun Ban for Young Adults\">memorandum<\/a> supporting their motion for a preliminary injunction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The case, <em>Pinales v. Attorney General for the State of Hawaii,<\/em> names Hawaii Attorney General Anne E. Lopez as the defendant in her official capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This legal battle is shaping up to be a critical moment in the ongoing fight to protect the rights of young adult gun owners across the
