Please weigh in with your thoughts below.  <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Lakewood Church shooter identified as trans.<br \/><br \/>The Iowa high school shooter identified as a radical rainbow activist.<br \/><br \/>The Nashville shooter identified as trans. <br \/><br \/>The Colorado Springs shooter identified as non binary.<br \/><br \/>The Denver shooter identified as trans.<br \/><br \/>The Aberdeen\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YkSMm6EjpK\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"should-transgenders-have-their-firearms-confiscated\" title=\"Should Transgenders Have Their Firearms Confiscated?\">pic.twitter.com\/YkSMm6EjpK<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bennyjohnson\/status\/1757091654471680511?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"should-transgenders-have-their-firearms-confiscated\" title=\"Should Transgenders Have Their Firearms Confiscated?\">February 12, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>A recent AmmunitionToGo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ammunitiontogo.com\/lodge\/nra-member-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"should-transgenders-have-their-firearms-confiscated\" title=\"Should Transgenders Have Their Firearms Confiscated?\">survey<\/a> at the 2024 National Rifle Association Annual Meetings in Dallas, Texas, stirred up a big question: Should transgenders have their firearms confiscated? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly 1,000 attendees weighed in, offering a peek into the diverse opinions within the NRA\u2019s crowd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the NRA claims to have five million members, some board members and reports suggest the number is closer to four million. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Science of Being Transgender ft. Gigi Gorgeous\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MitqjSYtwrQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><br \/>According to this pro-trans video, trans individuals &#8220;suffer from more depression and anxiety than the general public.&#8221;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With this figure in mind, the survey\u2019s sample size of 986 gives it a margin of error of about 3%, according to the pollsters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-results\">Results!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to firearm confiscation for people who\u2019ve had gender reassignment surgery, fewer than 22% of NRA members think these individuals should lose their firearms.  About 28% are still on the fence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that approximately 50% of respondents firmly support 2A rights for the trans community.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interestingly, the oldest folks in the survey showed the most support for trans-gun rights. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) even asked the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms for guidance on background check forms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response, the ATF <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/genderqueers-non-binary-option-form-4473\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"should-transgenders-have-their-firearms-confiscated\" title=\"Should Transgenders Have Their Firearms Confiscated?\">added<\/a> a \u201cnon-binary\u201d checkbox to its Form 4473 in 2020, showing that the world is paying attention to gender diversity in firearm regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AmmunitionToGo&#8217;s survey highlights the wide range of opinions within the NRA on the rights of transgender individuals.
