No army in the world uses a service rifle that is only semiautomatic.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-the-sig-sauer-m18-comes-to-california\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/the-sig-sauer-m18-comes-to-california\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"noir-why-did-scotus-turn-its-back-on-ar-owners\" title=\"Noir: Why Did SCOTUS Turn Its Back on AR Owners?\">The Sig Sauer M18 Comes to California<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>He also highlighted that Illinois&#8217; ban is &#8220;highly suspect because it broadly prohibits common semiautomatic firearms used for lawful purposes.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, what does this mean for our Second Amendment rights? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, by refusing to hear this case, the Supreme Court has basically left the Seventh Circuit&#8217;s decision in place, at least for now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means Illinois can continue enforcing its ban on &#8216;semi-auto rifles,&#8217; which concerns me because it sets a precedent that could gas up other states to enact their own &#8220;assault weapon&#8221; bans because they&#8217;ll see it as open season on Semi-Auto Rifles and Standard Capacity Magazines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whatever you do, don\u2019t ever let anyone tell you the Second Amendment doesn\u2019t protect your right to own an AR15. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there is one gun on this planet that the Second Amendment protects, it is absolutely the AR-15. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not because the AR-15 was specifically what the framers had in mind when the Second Amendment was drafted, but because the framers were thinking about how to protect the people&#8217;s right to own the most effective tool to preserve this free state and protect themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At that time, that tool was the musket, and today, that musket is the AR-15. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So Yes, AR-15s are Protected by the Second Amendment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;A Regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It didn&#8217;t say only handguns; it said &#8220;<em>ARMS<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\" style=\"font-size:24px\"><strong><em>*** <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"noir-why-did-scotus-turn-its-back-on-ar-owners\" title=\"Noir: Why Did SCOTUS Turn Its Back on AR Owners?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Buy and Sell on GunsAmerica!<\/a> ***<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court has once again declined to review the Illinois law banning semi-automatic rifles and Standard-capacity magazines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":115,"featured_media":204162,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_specdata_upc":"","_specdata_placement":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[244,25,240],"tags":[132,607,122],"featured":[],"hunt365":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-204160","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-2nd-amendment-r2kba","8":"category-current-events","9":"category-this-week","10":"tag-buzz","11":"tag-news","12":"tag-r2kba"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.3 (Yoast SEO v27.3) -
