Dispatch sent the calls to the Boise Police Department (BPD) for a welfare check. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officer Garrett Miller, just starting his shift, noticed the call. He remembered Christian from a 911 hang-up call at the same address a few days earlier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During that call, Christian had admitted to &#8220;smoking a bunch of meth&#8221; and seemed very paranoid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to their previous interaction, Officer Miller decided to respond. BPD Corporal Andrew Johnson also headed to the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cpl. Johnson arrived first at the apartment complex at 1101 S. Dale Street, followed by Officer Miller. Springfield\u2019s New 2020 Waypoint In Long Action \u2014 NRA 2024<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Christian was holding a metal spike, a long hammer, and a KA-Bar-style knife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The officers immediately ordered Christian to drop the weapons. Christian shouted that someone was trying to kill him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As he moved closer, the officers raised their weapons and kept telling him to drop the knife. Christian refused and charged at them, holding the knife in one hand and the hammer and spike in the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Christian got within six to ten feet, Cpl. Johnson fired his gun, and Officer Miller followed suit. They continued shooting until Christian fell to the ground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cpl. Johnson called dispatch about the shooting while Officer Miller kicked the weapons away. Christian was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officers found a claw hammer, a K-Bar knife with a twelve-inch blade, and a fourteen-inch metal spike\/pry bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>What do you think of the officers&#8217; response?
