Gun Owners Foundation (@GunFoundation) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GunFoundation\/status\/1792333294228689186?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"court-grants-tro-against-bidens-universal-registration-check-rule\" title=\"Court Grants TRO Against Biden's Universal Registration Check Rule\">May 19, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"yoast-reading-time__wrapper\"><span class=\"yoast-reading-time__icon\"><svg aria-hidden=\"true\" focusable=\"false\" data-icon=\"clock\" width=\"20\" height=\"20\" fill=\"none\" stroke=\"currentColor\" style=\"display:inline-block;vertical-align:-0.1em\" role=\"img\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" viewbox=\"0 0 24 24\"><path stroke-linecap=\"round\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\" stroke-width=\"2\" d=\"M12 8v4l3 3m6-3a9 9 0 11-18 0 9 9 0 0118 0z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/span><span class=\"yoast-reading-time__spacer\" style=\"display:inline-block;width:1em\"><\/span><span class=\"yoast-reading-time__descriptive-text\">Estimated reading time:  <\/span><span class=\"yoast-reading-time__reading-time\">3<\/span><span class=\"yoast-reading-time__time-unit\"> minutes<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br \/>Gun Owners of America (GOA) and the Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) secured a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the Biden administration&#8217;s new Universal Registration Check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atf.gov\/firearms\/final-rule-definition-engaged-business-dealer-firearms\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"court-grants-tro-against-bidens-universal-registration-check-rule\" title=\"Court Grants TRO Against Biden's Universal Registration Check Rule\">rule<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This rule could require anyone selling a single gun in a year to obtain a Federal Firearms License and conduct background checks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rule was set to take effect on May 20th, but the TRO prevents its enforcement against the individual plaintiff, citizens of Texas, and members of GOA, GOF, the Tennessee Firearms Association, and the Virginia Citizens Defense League. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the TRO does not apply to Louisiana, Mississippi, and Utah, which were co-filers in the original suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sk-guns-the-lost-states-of-america-series-featuring-daniel-boone\">SK Guns: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/sk-guns-the-lost-states-of-america-series-featuring-daniel-boone\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"court-grants-tro-against-bidens-universal-registration-check-rule\" title=\"Court Grants TRO Against Biden's Universal Registration Check Rule\">\u2018The Lost States of America\u2019 Series Featuring Daniel Boone<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Erich Pratt, GOA\u2019s Senior Vice President spoke about this latest development in a press release obtained by GunsAmerica. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;President Biden and his anti-gun administration have aggressively pursued an agenda meant to harass, intimidate, and criminalize gun owners and dealers at every turn,&#8221; said Pratt.  &#8220;This ruling is a compelling rebuke of their tyrannical and unconstitutional actions that purposely misinterpreted federal law to ensure their preferred policy outcome.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will continue the fight to ensure that this administration never succeeds in their goal of building a comprehensive database of firearm transaction records, which this rule would have been critical to accomplishing,&#8221; he added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-court-s-ruling\">Court&#8217;s Ruling<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1K9tYi6x7JJ-wGWwlLg3FAjVbuBm_EWwO\/preview\" width=\"854\" height=\"480\" allow=\"autoplay\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a memorandum opinion and order, Judge Matthew J.
