Colona, IL (January 2024) \u2013<\/strong> Rock River Arms, the industry’s most respected name in Modern Sporting Rifles and pistols, expands its tactical firearms lineup with the introduction of the BT-2 ATR chambered in 5.56 NATO. This is an ambidextrous-operation carbine incorporating upgraded components to give both left- and right-hand shooters the performance they have come to expect in a Rock River Arms premium-grade defensive arm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BT-2 ATR stands on RRA\u2019s new BT-2 upper and lower receivers. Made from 7075 T6 billet aluminum, these precision-machined receivers deliver the strength and rugged performance demanded in a purpose-built defensive carbine. Incorporated into the receiver platforms are several components that deliver left- and right-hand function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First is the Radian Raptor charging handle. Unlike standard charging handles, the Radian Raptor can be released by pulling either the left or right handle, allowing single-finger or palming action to charge the firearm. Additionally, texturing along the handles ensures no-slip operation from the strong or support side, even when wearing gloves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second, the all-new BT-2 billet lower receiver is machined for ambidextrous bolt catch\/release and magazine release systems. With these systems, the shooter can place the bolt catch\/release and magazine release button on either the left- or right-hand side of the receiver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Third, the BT-2 ATR comes with an ambidextrous safety selector switch. With the lever positioned on both sides of the receiver, the shooter can easily switch between \u201cfire\u201d and \u201csafe\u201d from the left- or right-hand shooting position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the ambidextrous operation, the BT-2 ATR scores high marks in the accuracy department. The 16-inch chrome-lined chrome moly barrel is cut with 1:9 twist rifling to stabilize military standard 55- and 62-grain bullets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The big accuracy enhancer comes with the inclusion of RRA\u2019s proven two-stage Ultra Match trigger group. Wire EDM cut for precision, this trigger offers a crisp, clean break with a 4.5- to 5-lb. pull weight that minimizes shot disturbance and significantly boosts accuracy potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To optimize ergonomics from any shooting position, the BT-2 ATR comes with the NSP-2 six-position CAR stock. Designed to promote an ideal cheek weld, the NSP-2 also includes ambidextrous QD sling swivel pockets for mounting the sling to the left or right side of the stock for a secure sling wrap around the shooter\u2019s torso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ambidextrous functions continue with the new RRA BT2 freefloat handguard. M-LOK compatible, the BT2 handguard is 13 inches long and allows a QD sling swivel mount to be attached to the left or right side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the BT-2 ATR is fitted with a Hogue beavertail pistol grip. With its high-traction rubber finish, textured grip panels, and finger grooving, this grip offers one of the most comfortable, slip-free purchases of any grip on the market today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
