L9A1 was the British Special Air Service&#8217;s designation for the pistol. It was one of their standard-issue weapons for decades. (Black display magnets are visible behind it above the slide)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-like-the-original-but-different\">Like the original, but different<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Inglis&#8217;s new production maintains the ring-style hammer (less hammer bite with this style), three-dot front and rear sights, and even the lanyard ring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One significant deviation and update is that there are now safety levers on both sides of the gun for ambidextrous control. The magazine catch is left-side only. It is also the inspiration for almost every major handgun in production today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inglis&#8217;s L9A1, distributed in the US by SDS Imports, starts at just $480. Even at that low price, it is all machined metal and there are no MIM parts anywhere. The trigger weighs in at just 7 lbs and is remarkably crisp. It appears to be an excellent gun and a true value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-more-finishes-coming-in-april\">More finishes coming in April<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting in April, there will also be a nickel-plated P-35 (&#8217;35&#8217; references 1935, the year it was launched) and another black model. Both of these will have walnut grips and fiber optic front sights with blacked-out rear sights, both in the Browning dovetail pattern.
