I am God' -- Mentally Unstable Man Shot After Forcing Entry Into Neighbor\u2019s Home\"><em>KTLA5<\/em><\/a>, the incident started when the man, identified by neighbors as Alex, began vandalizing a Porsche. He shattered the back window and was reportedly yelling in the street.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some witnesses reported that he was yelling, \u201cI am God, I am God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His neighbor, a homeowner, went outside to confront Alex. At some point, Alex forced entry into the neighbor\u2019s home.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-shots-fired\">Shots Fired <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Alex was asked to leave and refused. The homeowner \u201cretrieved a firearm and shot the subject,\u201d Charles Miller, from the LAPD, said.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police received a 911 call from the homeowner around 11 a.m. They were told the incident was an assault with a deadly weapon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After officials arrived, the injured Alex was taken to the hospital. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxla.com\/news\/neighbor-dispute-shooting-los-angeles-hollywood-hills\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"i-am-god-i-am-god-mentally-unstable-man-shot-after-forcing-entry-into-neighbors-home\" title=\"'I am God.  I am God' -- Mentally Unstable Man Shot After Forcing Entry Into Neighbor\u2019s Home\"><em>Fox11<\/em><\/a>, he is in stable condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Pe4gDQUkJDk?si=w6nExY9zmpThovY0\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"i-am-god-i-am-god-mentally-unstable-man-shot-after-forcing-entry-into-neighbors-home\" title=\"'I am God.  I am God' -- Mentally Unstable Man Shot After Forcing Entry Into Neighbor\u2019s Home\"><em>KTLA5<\/em><\/a>, police reported, \u201cThe bullet wound is non-life-threatening.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-an-unstable-man\">An Unstable Man<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Alex \u201cappeared to be undergoing some type of episode,\u201d Miller said. \u201cBut it\u2019s unknown if there\u2019s anything prior.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/hollywood-hills-shooting-investigation-lapd\/14145198\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"i-am-god-i-am-god-mentally-unstable-man-shot-after-forcing-entry-into-neighbors-home\" title=\"'I am God.  I am God' -- Mentally Unstable Man Shot After Forcing Entry Into Neighbor\u2019s Home\"><em>ABC7<\/em><\/a>, a man named Steve Costello had spoken with Alex less than 20 minutes before the incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSounded disturbed,\u201d Costello said, \u201cI sensed mental illness. He was really sporadical and really nervous.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Costello had been planning to purchase a car from Alex that day, and when texts went unanswered, he drove over and found the yellow tape.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hopefully-he-ll-get-some-help\">Hopefully He&#8217;ll Get Some Help<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Neighbors, who chose to remain unidentified, expressed concern. \u201cHe\u2019s mentally unstable, he really needs help and there\u2019s been repeated instances where he\u2019s cried for help, so to speak.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The consensus among these neighbors seems to be that this event will hopefully lead Alex to get help.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation is ongoing.
