Police received a report of an armed robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-armed-citizen-confronts-robbers\">Armed Citizen Confronts Robbers <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When the police arrived on the scene they discovered that an armed citizen had shot at the robbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One robber was hit and taken to the Regional One Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.localmemphis.com\/article\/news\/crime\/robber-shot-killed-rob-dollar-general-memphis\/522-406f0e21-5445-41ea-87d0-d3fd1e70c762\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"armed-citizen-shoots-kills-one-of-three-dollar-general-robbers\" title=\"Armed Citizen Shoots, Kills One of Three Dollar-General Robbers\"><em>ABC24<\/em><\/a>, the other two suspects ran away. One was caught and taken into police custody while the other is still on the loose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wounded robber died at the hospital.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>READ MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/concealed-carrying-legislator-thwarts-robbery\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"armed-citizen-shoots-kills-one-of-three-dollar-general-robbers\" title=\"Armed Citizen Shoots, Kills One of Three Dollar-General Robbers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Concealed-carrying legislator thwarts robbery<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe need to really take this seriously,\u201d Crystal Blair, a nearby business owner told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox13memphis.com\/news\/robber-shot-killed-during-robbery-at-dollar-general-memphis-police-say\/article_649b9402-8e1d-11ee-912c-0368e93cd9b9.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"armed-citizen-shoots-kills-one-of-three-dollar-general-robbers\" title=\"Armed Citizen Shoots, Kills One of Three Dollar-General Robbers\"><em>Fox13<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s horrible to hear that someone actually lost their life, but that\u2019s what\u2019s going on in Memphis.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blair said her bakery down the street opened just three months ago and has been broken into more than once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m fearful,&#8221; Blair said. \u201cI don\u2019t even stay open after dark anymore.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She mentioned her hope that a new mayor coming into office might make a difference. \u201cBusinesses are suffering over here.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports say the citizen who shot the robbers was detained for a short time by the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No charges have been announced so far regarding the suspects or the citizen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-it-s-getting-serious\">It&#8217;s Getting Serious<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/195196\/robbery-in-the-us-by-location-of-the-felony\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"armed-citizen-shoots-kills-one-of-three-dollar-general-robbers\" title=\"Armed Citizen Shoots, Kills One of Three Dollar-General Robbers\"><em>Statista<\/em>,<\/a> convenience stores reported over 10 thousand robberies nationwide during 2022.
