The agent was apparently addressing the father of the citizen on the list.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other agent warns, \u201cIf he gets caught with it after this point he\u2019s on notice that he\u2019s not supposed to have it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This encounter resembles a previous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/video-atf-agents-going-door-to-door-to-confiscate-frts-we-have-to-pick-em-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"watch-atf-agents-continue-door-to-door-confiscation-effort\" title=\"WATCH: ATF Agents Continue Door-to-Door Confiscation Effort\">incident<\/a> covered by GunsAmerica.  In that case, another citizen refused to answer questions about FRTs.  During the exchange, the agents ask the man if he is refusing to surrender the triggers.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He firmly tells the agents, &#8220;I\u2019m not refusing anything and I won\u2019t be answering any questions.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-atf-agents-going-door-to-door-to-confiscate-frts-we-have-to-pick-em-up\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/video-atf-agents-going-door-to-door-to-confiscate-frts-we-have-to-pick-em-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"watch-atf-agents-continue-door-to-door-confiscation-effort\" title=\"WATCH: ATF Agents Continue Door-to-Door Confiscation Effort\">ATF Agents Going Door-to-Door to Confiscate FRTs\u2026 \u2018We have to Pick \u2018Em Up\u2019<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ongoing attempts to seize these FRTs reflect the ATF&#8217;s aggressive stance on the enforcement of the National Firearms Act (NFA) of 1934 and the Gun Control Act of 1968. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The possession of an unregistered machine gun is a federal offense.  Violators face fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of the firearms or any property used in the offense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The growing number of recorded encounters is fueling outrage among 2A advocates.  Many argue that this represents an excessive use of government resources and a direct attack on law-abiding citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ATF continues to assert that their actions are lawful.  They argue these door-to-door visits are necessary to ensure public safety. Critics, however, argue that the approach disproportionately targets responsible gun owners.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The question remains as to how the ATF obtained the list of purchasers of FRTs.  Also, whether a similar approach will be taken toward other items such as bump stocks, pistol braces, and unserialized frames and receivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conflict highlights the tension between the enforcement of gun control measures and the preservation of citizens&#8217; constitutional rights.
