I experienced this sauce for the first time in Taiwan as a 19-year-old kid, which was also the first time I\u2019d ever had a steak at a restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This sauce is flavorful and spicy and a little sweet. Use it on any red meat to finish the flavor. I used it here on backstops from last year\u2019s cow elk. It would also be excellent on a roast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to make it really authentic Taiwanese, serve it on a hot skillet with an egg frying on the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These proportions make enough to have extra and keep it in the fridge to use next time you cook. You could also halve it for smaller proportions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-you-need\">What You Need<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your Favorite Meat cooked as steak or a roast<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 Shallots minced (substitute yellow onions)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6 Cloves of garlic grated<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6 Tablespoons butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 Tablespoons black pepper (4 Tablespoons = 1\/4 Cup)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 Tablespoons oyster sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 Tablespoon honey or sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 Tablespoons soy sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2tablespoons rice wine or white wine or stock<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 tablespoons Ketchup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Green onion and corn kernels for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Simple Gourmet: Elk Steak with Black Pepper Sauce (Taiwan-style)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Black_Pepper_Steak_Sauce_Taiwanese_Levi_Sim-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Simple Gourmet: Elk Steak with Black Pepper Sauce (Taiwan-style)\" class=\"wp-image-181575\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Mince the Shallots or onion and grate the garlic.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You Do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Mince the shallots and grate the garlic.
