Media outlets&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/president-biden-goes-all-out-falsely-on-gun-control-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\"><strong>finally began fact-checking<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;the president\u2019s repeated false claims even as he continued reciting them. The truth demonstrates he\u2019s clearly wrong, yet here we are again. The more things change the more they stay the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Biden has a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/president-biden-repeats-his-gun-control-lies-in-first-state-of-the-union-address\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\"><strong>problem lying<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0about gun control and the firearm industry. His\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?528817-1\/president-biden-gun-safety-conference-connecticut\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\">speech on gun control<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0at the National Safety Communities Summit in Hartford, Conn., was just the latest example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-yoast-seo-table-of-contents yoast-table-of-contents\"><h2>Table of contents<\/h2><ul><li><a href=\"#h-end-game-giveaway\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\" data-level=\"2\">End Game Giveaway<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#h-industry-liability-lie\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\" data-level=\"2\">Industry Liability Lie<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#h-pistol-brace-whopper\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\" data-level=\"2\">Pistol Brace Whopper<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-end-game-giveaway\">End Game Giveaway<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Safer Communities Summit in Connecticut was organized by one of the U.S. Senate\u2019s staunchest gun control activists, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and the president thanked attendees for their \u201crelentless commitment\u201d to pushing more gun control, even as the president himself has&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/07\/11\/biden-heckled-gun-law-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\">admitted he\u2019s powerless<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;to do more on his own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Biden admitted the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act signed into law last year wasn\u2019t the end of the effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor me, and for most of you, here\u2019s what it really is: It\u2019s an important first step,\u201d the president&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/06\/16\/politics\/joe-biden-guns-connecticut\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\">exclaimed<\/a>.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cAbove all, we all agree we are not finished. We are not finished. We are not finished.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The president\u2019s remarks were similar to those made by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.) who was in attendance. She founded her namesake gun control group to push for more gun control and recently admitted it\u2019s not limiting Second Amendment freedoms she\u2019s after \u2013 it\u2019s eliminating guns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo more guns. Gone,\u201d she&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6274979\/gabby-giffords-gun-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\">specified<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;to media when asked about her goals earlier this year. She said the quiet part out loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those comments are in direct conflict with what Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) said after the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo, we\u2019re done \u2013 the sort of things he was calling for, don\u2019t have support in the Senate or in the Congress on a bipartisan basis,\u201d the senator stated after BSCA was enacted and President Biden immediately began calling for more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-industry-liability-lie\">Industry Liability Lie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It wouldn\u2019t be a President Biden speech on gun control without the commander-in-chief repeating his favorite falsehoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLook I find it outrageous that out of all the industries in America \u2013 and by the way I\u2019ve been doing this a long time \u2013 I was a pretty powerful senator. I\u2026 pretty, not \u2026managed, some of the biggest committees; Judiciary, Foreign Policy, senator. But I didn\u2019t know 10 years ago, I didn\u2019t know that gun manufacturers were immune from liability,\u201d the president claimed. \u201cI\u2019m being completely earnest here. It\u2019s always been false and always will be. The Washington Post, CNN, PolitiFact, the Associated Press and many more have all&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/president-biden-goes-all-out-falsely-on-gun-control-again\/?hilite=biden+PLCAA\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\"><strong>rebuked the president on his false claim<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey [firearm manufacturers] are not exempt or immune from being sued,\u201d wrote the AP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGun manufacturers can certainly be sued\u2026Biden is wrong to say gun manufacturers are alone,\u201d was the Washington Post\u2019s take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) protects firearm manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits that seek to blame them for the criminal misuse of legal, non-defective and lawfully sold firearms by remote third parties who are beyond the control of manufacturers. It\u2019s that law that prohibits the very unlawful actions the president praised. The PLCAA simply codifies bedrock principles of American jurisprudence. No manufacturer of any product is liable for the subsequent criminal misuse of a legal, non-defective lawfully sold product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pistol-brace-whopper\">Pistol Brace Whopper<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The president turned his attention to a current development in Congress after the U.S. House of Representatives&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/nssf-hails-house-of-representatives-passage-of-h-j-res-44-to-restore-congressional-authority-to-make-law-and-rein-in-administrative-overreach\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\">passed<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;in a bipartisan vote a joint resolution to nullify the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) rule that regulates stabilizing arm braces attached to pistols under the National Firearms Act (NFA). The president came out of nowhere with a wild claim about what a stabilizing arm brace does to a pistol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve made it harder for people to buy stabilizer braces. Put a pistol on a brace, and it turns it into a gun,\u201d President Biden&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2nd-amendment\/2023\/06\/17\/joe-biden-stabilizer-braces-make-pistols-shoot-higher-caliber-bullets\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\">said<\/a>.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cThe brace makes it where you can have a higher caliber bullet coming out of that gun.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Breitbart News\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2nd-amendment\/2023\/06\/17\/joe-biden-stabilizer-braces-make-pistols-shoot-higher-caliber-bullets\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\">provided<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0a simple fact-check on the president\u2019s remark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA stabilizer brace is simply a piece of plastic that can be attached to the rear of the gun to help stabilize the pistol when target shooting\u2026 A stabilizer brace does not impact or change the action or caliber of the AR-pistol,\u201d Breitbart reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That echoes the remarks given by the pistol brace\u2019s inventor during Congressional testimony earlier this year. Alex Bosco&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/fireworks-at-congressional-hearing-on-atf-and-who-makes-the-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\">told<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;representatives, \u201cI think the problem is that a lot of people aren\u2019t informed about what is and isn\u2019t a pistol and what is and isn\u2019t a rifle. It\u2019s very nuanced. A stabilizing brace is not a force multiplier.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Biden made several other false statements, including that the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban reduced the number of mass shootings \u201csignificantly.\u201d The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) analysis\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/democrats-end-game-revealed-in-assault-weapons-ban-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\">concluded<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0the impact on criminal misuse of firearms resulting from the 1994 ban would be \u201ctoo small for reliable measurement.\u201d The president also repeated the false claim that \u201cguns are the number one killer of children in the United States.\u201d NSSF\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/university-of-michigans-honorary-doctorate-in-gun-control-disinformation\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"president-bidens-new-repeated-gun-industry-lies\" title=\"President Biden's New Repeated Gun Industry Lies\">analysis debunked the study<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0that initially made the claim and Twitter\u2019s Community Notes corrected the president, stating, \u201cThe claim that guns are the leading cause of death for children would only be true if children under 1 are excluded and 18 and 19-year-olds are counted as children.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Biden\u2019s latest gaffe-filled speech on gun violence is a reminder that when it comes to restricting the rights of law-abiding Americans, the facts don\u2019t matter.
