Homeowner Defends Son Being Held At Gunpoint, Shoots Intruders<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigators revealed that the homeowner had stumbled upon the male intruder, 28-year-old Joshua Shiltz, while installing surveillance cameras on his property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This raised concerns for his personal safety. In response, the homeowner retrieved a firearm, preparing to confront the trespasser. <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wowktv.com\/news\/west-virginia\/kanawha-county-wv\/1-shot-in-cross-lanes-west-virginia\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"intruder-held-at-gunpoint-by-homeowner-after-shot-fired\" title=\"Intruder Held At Gunpoint by Homeowner After Shot Fired\u00a0\">WOWK TV<\/a> <\/em>reports that this is when the homeowner called 911.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The homeowner came outside to find Edwards attempting to escape down the driveway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At this moment, Shiltz startled the homeowner, causing the firearm to discharge. The round struck the ground and bullet fragments hit the fleeing intruder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Consequences<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the criminal complaint filed with the Kanawha County Magistrate Court, Shiltz hastily fled the scene. The victim told officials that several home break-ins had led to \u201ca large amount of his property stolen,\u201d per <a href=\"https:\/\/wchstv.com\/news\/local\/one-person-injured-shooting-reported-cross-lanes-big-tyler-road-investigation-kanawha-county\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"intruder-held-at-gunpoint-by-homeowner-after-shot-fired\" title=\"Intruder Held At Gunpoint by Homeowner After Shot Fired\u00a0\"><em>WSCH TV<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputies located Shiltz a short distance away from the property, nursing a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to CAMC General Hospital for medical attention and is currently reported to be in stable condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intruders Charged<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kanawha County Sheriff&#8217;s Office announced that Shiltz and Edwards, both citizens of Cross Lanes, will be charged with breaking and entering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, a car parked nearby was discovered by officials as belonging to Edwards. Inside was evidence related to this incident and \u201cpossibly additional crimes,\u201d says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lootpress.com\/homeowner-shoots-intruder-detains-another-until-officers-arrive\/\"
