It was an automatic rifle with bullets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspect in the shooting used an<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2023_Allen,_Texas_outlet_mall_shooting\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"not-a-credible-witness-police-former-army-officer-spainhouer\" title=\"'Not a credible witness,' Police on Former Army Officer Who Called for Gun Control After Texas Mall Shooting\"> AR-15-style rifle<\/a>.  Not a select fire or fully automatic rifle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the press release, the APD blasted Spainhouer, saying he was &#8220;not a credible witness.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Press_Release.jpg\" alt=\"The Allen Police Dept. Press Release.\" class=\"wp-image-179476\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The press release.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Allen Police Department wants to inform the public of discrepancies with statements made by a witness to several media outlets. Following the shooting at Allen Premium Outlets, Mr. Steven Spainhouer of McKinney, Texas gave multiple public accounts of his actions,&#8221; said APD in the press release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Inconsistencies between these public accounts and investigative facts led Allen Police Department to conduct a follow-up interview. When I arrived at the H&amp;M store, there was one person there asking for my help,&#8221; Spainhouer stated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added, &#8220;If there were other first responders there before I showed up, I would have no way of knowing it. I know that there were individuals who were deceased and could not be treated with CPR. I know because I was there,&#8221; he continued. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also clarified that he did not move any victims, apart from the first one he found to check on her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I did not move any victims, except the first one I found to check on her.
