(<em>Photo: Phoenix Police Dept.<\/em>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When Saavedra persisted, shattering a carport window and reaching inside, the victim&#8217;s 13-year-old son shot him in defense of his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saavedra later revealed in an interview that he&#8217;d been on a 48-hour methamphetamine binge with a friend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He approached the house mistakenly thinking his son was inside, despite knowing it wasn&#8217;t his residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, Saavedra faces 2nd Degree Burglary charges.
