A landmark change in Nebraska’s firearm laws went into effect this month, permitting residents aged 21 and over to carry concealed weapons without the need for a permit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This change comes as a result of Legislative Bill 77<\/a>, which Gov. Jim Pillen ratified earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before this significant legal transformation, obtaining a concealed carry permit in Nebraska necessitated multiple steps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents had to undergo a criminal background check, pay a $100 fee, and complete an eight to 16-hour gun safety course, as Omaha.com<\/em> reported<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Jim Pillen, during the bill’s signing ceremony, expressed his commitment to protecting Nebraskans’ constitutional rights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSigning this bill upholds the promise I made to voters to protect our constitutional rights and promote commonsense, conservative values,\u201d said Gov. Pillen back in April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was accompanied by the bill’s lead sponsor, Sen. Tom Brewer, along with other state senators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
