The homeowner was standing in the doorway with a gun.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite being repeatedly instructed to drop his weapon, the homeowner continued to disregard the trooper\u2019s instructions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/news\/local\/trooper-shoots-man-who-fired-at-police-during-house-fire-officials-say\/3539964\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"trooper-shoots-armed-homeowner-during-house-fire\" title=\"Trooper Shoots Armed Homeowner During House Fire\"><em>NBC10<\/em><\/a> reports that he even fired at them, prompting one state trooper to fire back, striking the man in the hand and leg.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-related-st-louis-metro-transit-rejects-firearm-industry-anti-straw-purchase-education-advertising-campaign\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/st-louis-metro-transit-rejects-firearm-industry-anti-straw-purchase-education-advertising-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"trooper-shoots-armed-homeowner-during-house-fire\" title=\"Trooper Shoots Armed Homeowner During House Fire\">Related: St. Louis Metro Transit Rejects Firearm Industry Anti-Straw Purchase Education Advertising Campaign<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Finding it now possible to approach, the officers immediately rendered aid and found a loaded revolver near the man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The homeowner was taken to the Reading Hospital Trauma Center and \u201cremains in critical but stable condition\u201d according to multiple sources.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No one else was harmed during the incident.
