Armed with a firearm, he shot the homeowner&#8217;s dog. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with the homeowner, two other people were inside the residence.  As the incident unfolded, the homeowner was able to retrieve his own firearm and fire back at Murphy.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shots sent Murphy fleeing the residence and police were called shortly after.  That&#8217;s when they found Murphy at the intersection. Bond was set at $500,000.  Once he is released from the hospital, he will be transferred to an El Paso County\u00a0Detention Facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The situation is still under investigation by the El Paso Police. The Animal Cruelty Investigative Unit Is also looking into the matter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the homeowner\u2019s responsiveness and access to an adequate means of self-defense, he and the other residents are safe.
