HB 543 ensures that those who are eligible to own a gun do not need additional permission from the government to carry it. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7aYv1J00cd\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"florida-state-lawmakers-introduce-constitutional-carry-bill\" title=\"Florida State Lawmakers Introduce 'Constitutional Carry' Bill!\">pic.twitter.com\/7aYv1J00cd<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Paul Renner (@Paul_Renner) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Paul_Renner\/status\/1620147204831821824?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"florida-state-lawmakers-introduce-constitutional-carry-bill\" title=\"Florida State Lawmakers Introduce 'Constitutional Carry' Bill!\">January 30, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/florida-bill-could-gun-owners-huge-win-us-constitutional-carry-majority-country\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"florida-state-lawmakers-introduce-constitutional-carry-bill\" title=\"Florida State Lawmakers Introduce 'Constitutional Carry' Bill!\">Florida lawmakers<\/a> introduced legislation to allow citizens to carry concealed firearms without a government-issued permit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bill, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2023\/543\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"florida-state-lawmakers-introduce-constitutional-carry-bill\" title=\"Florida State Lawmakers Introduce 'Constitutional Carry' Bill!\">HB 543,<\/a> was introduced by Republican state Rep. Chuck Brannan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our right to bear arms, of course, is enshrined in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The bill that I will file later today continues to advance Second Amendment freedoms through legislation known as \u2018constitutional carry,\u2019&#8221; said Brannan at a recent press conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, Brannan explained, &#8220;I believe Floridians have the right to bear arms to protect themselves, their families and their property without government interference. This bill is a big step to help the average law-abiding citizen to keep from having to go through the hoops of getting a permit from the government to carry their weapons.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Florida House Speaker Paul Renner and several law enforcement officials joined Brannan in introducing the bill to show their support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HB 543<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2023\/543\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"florida-state-lawmakers-introduce-constitutional-carry-bill\" title=\"Florida State Lawmakers Introduce 'Constitutional Carry' Bill!\">House Bill 543<\/a> will authorize Florida residents and non-residents to carry concealed without a license, provided they meet the legal requirements to carry a weapon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some restrictions will exist, such as specific locations like school property and events, as well as the requirement to carry identification and display said identification upon demand by law enforcement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Florida Sheriff&#039;s Association supports Permitless Carry legislation.\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gvz6lcQ9lJ8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essentially, law-abiding citizens will be able to carry a concealed weapon more simply, without asking the government for permission and without paying the fee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In regard to the motive for introducing such legislation, Brannan stated, &#8220;[Criminals] are getting guns anyway. They&#8217;re breaking into houses, they&#8217;re breaking into cars, and they&#8217;re carrying guns illegally. They don&#8217;t care what the law says. We are only giving our law-abiding citizens a simpler way to have the ability to protect themselves, their families, their homes and their places of business.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Constitutional Carry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Florida&#8217;s push for constitutional carry comes at a decisive moment for 2A rights. Following the tragic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/ca-gov-newsom-second-amendment-is-becoming-a-suicide-pact\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"florida-state-lawmakers-introduce-constitutional-carry-bill\" title=\"Florida State Lawmakers Introduce 'Constitutional Carry' Bill!\">shootings<\/a> over the last few weeks, extensive gun control has been a hot topic across the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, the ATF is attempting to redefine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/breaking-goa-condemns-biden-rule-to-criminalize-pistol-braced-firearms\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"florida-state-lawmakers-introduce-constitutional-carry-bill\" title=\"Florida State Lawmakers Introduce 'Constitutional Carry' Bill!\">AR-pistol braces<\/a> and Illinois recently passed the unconstitutional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/assault-weapons-ban-passed-illinois\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"florida-state-lawmakers-introduce-constitutional-carry-bill\" title=\"Florida State Lawmakers Introduce 'Constitutional Carry' Bill!\">&#8220;Protect Illinois Communities Act&#8221;<\/a> banning &#8220;assault weapons&#8221;
