That is, all the existing gun control measures on the books did not stop this lawbreaker from stockpiling not only firearms but &#8220;ammunition, grenades, silencers, ballistic armor, firearms accessories, and other equipment,&#8221; per the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-wdwa\/pr\/snohomish-county-man-who-had-arsenal-guns-and-explosives-and-underground-bunker\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"feds-nab-felon-with-underground-bunker-containing-guns-explosives\" title=\"Feds Nab Felon with Underground Bunker Containing Guns, Explosives\"> Dept. of Justice<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bowden also modified two firearms to &#8220;shoot as fully automatic machine guns,&#8221; according to the arrest report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/battle-of-bunker-hill-gun-sold-492000\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"feds-nab-felon-with-underground-bunker-containing-guns-explosives\" title=\"Feds Nab Felon with Underground Bunker Containing Guns, Explosives\">Gun that fired the first shot at the Battle of Bunker Hill Sold for $492,000<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This case underscores the severe limitations of gun control as a means to stop determined criminals.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As it turns out, policies that curtail the 2A rights of law-abiding citizens do not make criminals less dangerous nor do they prevent criminals from obtaining illegal arms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More about the bust from the DOJ: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p> A 42-year-old Snohomish County man was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in Seattle to 42 months in prison for illegal possession of firearms and destructive devices, announced U.S. Attorney Nick Brown. James Wesley Bowden was arrested in November 2021, following an altercation at his property on Burn Road.\u00a0 Sheriff\u2019s deputies were called to the scene when Bowden threatened another man with a gun.\u00a0 At the sentencing hearing, U.S. District Judge Ricardo S. Martinez, noted that Bowden\u2019s drug addiction likely caused a substantial portion of his criminal conduct.
