{"id":168942,"date":"2022-09-27T16:31:27","date_gmt":"2022-09-27T20:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/?p=168942"},"modified":"2022-09-27T16:31:27","modified_gmt":"2023-09-08T10:09:32","slug":"watch-armed-store-clerk-convinces-shotgun-wielding-suspect-to-leave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/watch-armed-store-clerk-convinces-shotgun-wielding-suspect-to-leave\/","title":{"rendered":"WATCH: Armed Store Clerk Convinces Shotgun-Wielding Suspect to Leave"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month, a would-be robber walked into a convenience store in Escambia County, Florida, and was quickly convinced to leave the premises after being confronted by an armed employee.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspect, identified as Rakim Stephen Tate, 32, was carrying a Benelli shotgun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a post on Facebook, the Escambia County Sheriff&#8217;s Office disclosed how the incident unfolded: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>On September 9, 2022, a bad decision became a worse decision when a shotgun-wielding man entered a convenience store on the 4000-block of North Pace Blvd. With the shotgun close to his side, he walks into the store and\u00a0looks around. At this time, he doesn\u2019t notice anyone behind the counter\u2026so he watches and waits.  Unbeknownst to the \u201cwould-be\u201d robber, a store employee had watched him arm himself before entering the store. This employee headed to the backroom to arm himself (with his own personal gun).<\/em><\/p><p><em>Back to this \u201cwould-be\u201d robber\u2026with his shotgun in hand, he waits for the employee to emerge. Seconds later, when he sees the employee return, he freezes\u2026oh boy. The employee returned to the counter holding his own gun toward the befuddled attempted robber. He then fumbles for words, resorting to meaningless babble about being from Chicago. Words seem to fail you when your felony attempt is thwarted by lawful and righteous force.
