The Internal Revenue Service is hiring!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With President Joe Biden signing the \u201cInflation Reduction Act\u201d into law this week<\/a>, America\u2019s taxman will receive a generous boost in funding to the tune of about $80 billion, a hefty chunk of which is earmarked to hire new employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While there\u2019s been a dispute online about the number of new agents the IRS will hire \u2014 a May 2021 report <\/a>from the Treasury Department put that figure at around 87,000 \u2014 the agency hasn\u2019t officially disclosed its plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Democrats want to make the IRS larger than the Pentagon, the State Department, the FBI, and the Border Patrol combined.

What is clear, however, is the IRS wants more workers to bolster tax compliance to bring in more revenue.  To help achieve this goal, the agency is looking for Criminal Investigation (CI) special agents.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CI is the law enforcement branch of the agency<\/a>.  Its special agents, apparently, must be really willing to bring the hammer down on suspected tax cheats.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consider this CI special agent job posting<\/a>, which under the category of \u201cmajor duties\u201d lists, \u201cCarry a firearm and be willing to use deadly force, if necessary.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Note:<\/strong> It appears the IRS has removed that “deadly force” requirement from its “major duties,” but not before someone got a screenshot and posted it to Twitter.<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IRS is hiring new special agents!

For those, like Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), who believe that federal income tax is theft<\/a>, this is a shot across the bow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis bill has new IRS agents and they are armed, and the job description tells them that they need to be required to carry a firearm and expect to use deadly force if necessary,\u201d Boebert said on Twitter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cExcessive taxation is theft. You are using the power of the federal government for armed robbery on the taxpayers,” she continued. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

THIS is who the IRS sending to stack up against armed folks who train and dislike unconstitutional agencies.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was also critical of the plan to swell the ranks of the IRS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Democrats want to make the IRS larger than the Pentagon, the State Department, the FBI, and the Border Patrol combined,” he Tweeted. “That’s a terrible idea. We should abolish the IRS!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given that our national debt is over $30 trillion<\/a>, it’s highly unlikely that lawmakers on either side of the aisle will vote to defund, let alone, abolish the IRS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Know that those 87,000 new IRS agents will be defunded.

If you\u2019re applying, be prepared to be laid off.

You should find work in the private sector instead.
