We just like our silly little justifications so we can sleep at night.<\/p>\u2014 Aenias (@Aenias_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Aenias_\/status\/1548862781574758402?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"good-samaritan-fatally-shot-active-shooter-indiana-mall\" title=\"Police Praise 'Good Samaritan' Who Fatally Shot Active Shooter At Indiana Mall\">July 18, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote> \n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wthr.com\/article\/news\/local\/multiple-victims-reported-in-shooting-at-greenwood-park-mall\/531-df15bbf5-8eca-4220-b149-7de4735fbe37\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"good-samaritan-fatally-shot-active-shooter-indiana-mall\" title=\"Police Praise 'Good Samaritan' Who Fatally Shot Active Shooter At Indiana Mall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>13WTHR<\/em><\/a> reported that in all, four people were killed, including the shooter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three victims who died were identified as Pedro Pineda,56, his wife, Rosa Mirian Rivera de Pineda, 37, and Victor Gomez,30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shooter was identified as Jonathan Douglas Sapirman, 20, of Greenwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wthr.com\/article\/news\/local\/multiple-victims-reported-in-shooting-at-greenwood-park-mall\/531-df15bbf5-8eca-4220-b149-7de4735fbe37\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"good-samaritan-fatally-shot-active-shooter-indiana-mall\" title=\"Police Praise 'Good Samaritan' Who Fatally Shot Active Shooter At Indiana Mall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">13WTHR<\/a> <\/em>summarized the events as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Sapirman had two rifles and a handgun.  He was also carrying several magazines of ammunition.  He only used one rifle during the shooting.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Sapirman reportedly entered the mall at 4:54pm on July 17.  He went into the bathroom where he remained for two hours and two minutes.  Police reported finding Sapirman&#8217;s cell phone in the toilet in the bathroom.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Sapirman left the bathroom and shot and killed Gomez.  He then started firing into the food court, striking and killing the Pinedas.  Two other people were injured during the shooting including a 12-year-old girl who was struck by a bullet fragment.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Sapirman fired 24 rounds during the course of the shooting.<\/em><\/li><li><em>at 5:57pm, Elisjsha Dicken, an armed civilian bystander with no police training or military background, fired on Sapirman.  Dicken fired 10 rounds hitting Sapirman and killing him.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dicken was carrying without a permit under the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/its-official-indiana-becomes-24th-state-to-pass-constitutional-carry\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"good-samaritan-fatally-shot-active-shooter-indiana-mall\" title=\"Police Praise 'Good Samaritan' Who Fatally Shot Active Shooter At Indiana Mall\">Constitutional Carry law<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">POLICE CHIEF ON GREENWOOD PARK MALL ARMED CITIZEN<br \/><br \/>&quot;He was carrying legally under Constitutional Carry law.
