autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brady Center To Prevent Gun Violence along with the parents of a victim of the Oxford High School shooting are suing a Michigan gun shop for selling a firearm to a straw purchaser.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The complaint names Acme Shooting Goods LLC, and alleges it was negligent when it sold a firearm to the father of the minor who perpetrated the attack last November.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSpecifically, upon information and belief, Acme ignored one or more \u2018red flags\u2019 that the sale was unlawful and could foreseeably result in a juvenile using the firearm to cause injury and damage,\u201d says Brady in a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bradyunited.org\/press-releases\/parents-of-oxford-high-school-student-file-lawsuit-against-gun-dealer-responsible-for-the-sale-of-the-gun-used-in-oxford-high-school-shooting\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"parents-of-victim-and-brady-campaign-sue-gun-shop-for-illegal-actions-of-straw-purchaser\" title=\"Parents of Victim And Brady Campaign Sue Gun Shop for Illegal Actions of Straw Purchaser\u00a0\"> press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe suit seeks damages to account for his care and injury as well as injunctive relief to reform the reckless practices that contributed to the mass shooting,\u201d it continued.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words, the plaintiffs argue the gun shop should have known or even knew the buyer, James Crumbley, was going to give his son Ethan access to the firearm so that Ethan could use it to kill four classmates and wound a dozen others.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As one local Metro Detroit gun shop owner indicated to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox2detroit.com\/news\/oxford-shooting-survivors-family-sues-gun-store-that-sold-weapon-to-suspects-dad\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"parents-of-victim-and-brady-campaign-sue-gun-shop-for-illegal-actions-of-straw-purchaser\" title=\"Parents of Victim And Brady Campaign Sue Gun Shop for Illegal Actions of Straw Purchaser\u00a0\"><em>Fox2Detroit<\/em><\/a>, the plaintiffs may have a hard time proving their case in court. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/arizona-homeowner-shoots-kills-two-intruders\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"parents-of-victim-and-brady-campaign-sue-gun-shop-for-illegal-actions-of-straw-purchaser\" title=\"Parents of Victim And Brady Campaign Sue Gun Shop for Illegal Actions of Straw Purchaser\u00a0\">Arizona Homeowner Shoots, Kills Two Intruders<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m finding a lot of difficulty with that because gun store owners have a lot of money invested in these stores,&#8221; said Kucyk, the owner of Action Impact Firearms. &#8220;And you\u2019re not going to risk your livelihood, your business, your employees&#8217; livelihood, for one gun transaction, you\u2019re not going to.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Existing federal law, under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), explicitly protects firearm manufacturers and retailers from the criminal misuse of lawfully sold firearms.&nbsp;
