Actor Matthew McConaughey wrote an op-ed on Monday in the Austin American-Statesman<\/em><\/a> advocating for a variety of gun control policies.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

McConaughey, who was born in Uvalde, Texas, and currently lives in Austin, argued that there is a balance between protecting 2A rights and keeping guns out of the hands of individuals who are a threat to themselves and others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI believe that responsible, law-abiding Americans have a Second Amendment right, enshrined by our founders, to bear arms,\u201d wrote McConaughey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
