RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1531301347508862979?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-suggests-ban-on-high-caliber-9mm-no-rational-basis-for-it-in-terms-of-self-protection\" title=\"Biden Suggests Ban on \u2018High Caliber\u2019 9mm, \u2018No rational basis for it in terms of self-protection\u2019\">May 30, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote> \n\n\n\n<p>President Joe Biden is notorious for talking nonsense about firearms and the 2A. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are just some of his past remarks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>He\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/joe-biden-defense-works-prosecutor-drops-charges-man-firing-shotgun-air\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-suggests-ban-on-high-caliber-9mm-no-rational-basis-for-it-in-terms-of-self-protection\" title=\"Biden Suggests Ban on \u2018High Caliber\u2019 9mm, \u2018No rational basis for it in terms of self-protection\u2019\">has told folks that ARs<\/a>\u00a0are \u201charder to use\u201d and \u201charder to aim\u201d than shotguns.\u00a0<\/li><li>He has also advised homeowners who feel threatened by a potential invader to empty their double-barreled shotgun into the air, and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Buy_a_Shotgun\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-suggests-ban-on-high-caliber-9mm-no-rational-basis-for-it-in-terms-of-self-protection\" title=\"Biden Suggests Ban on \u2018High Caliber\u2019 9mm, \u2018No rational basis for it in terms of self-protection\u2019\">fire two blasts outside the house<\/a>.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><li>Cops should shoot knife-wielding attackers \u201cin the leg,\u201d as opposed to center mass,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/biden-police-should-shoot-knife-wielding-attackers-in-the-leg-not-the-heart\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-suggests-ban-on-high-caliber-9mm-no-rational-basis-for-it-in-terms-of-self-protection\" title=\"Biden Suggests Ban on \u2018High Caliber\u2019 9mm, \u2018No rational basis for it in terms of self-protection\u2019\">according to Uncle Joe<\/a>.<\/li><li>And, part of the reason why one should support a ban on \u201cassault weapons\u201d is because\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nGrB-5ieeMU\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-suggests-ban-on-high-caliber-9mm-no-rational-basis-for-it-in-terms-of-self-protection\" title=\"Biden Suggests Ban on \u2018High Caliber\u2019 9mm, \u2018No rational basis for it in terms of self-protection\u2019\">cannons were \u201coutlawed\u201d<\/a>\u00a0during the Revolutionary War.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, this week he was at it again while talking to the press after disembarking Marine One on Monday. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biden referenced a recent visit to a New York hospital where doctors showed him x-rays of victims with gunshot wounds. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey showed me an x-ray,\u201d he said, recounting how a 9mm bullet from a \u201chigh caliber\u201d weapon causes more damage than a .22 caliber round. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA 9 mm bullet blows the lung out of the body,\u201d he continued. \u201cThere\u2019s simply no rational basis for it in terms of self-protection, hunting.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make matters worse, 46 then reiterated his lie about a founding-era ban on cannons which has been explicitly fact-checked by <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/28\/bidens-false-claim-that-2nd-amendment-bans-cannon-ownership\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-suggests-ban-on-high-caliber-9mm-no-rational-basis-for-it-in-terms-of-self-protection\" title=\"Biden Suggests Ban on \u2018High Caliber\u2019 9mm, \u2018No rational basis for it in terms of self-protection\u2019\">The Washington Post<\/a><\/em>.  <em>The Post<\/em> gave it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/28\/bidens-false-claim-that-2nd-amendment-bans-cannon-ownership\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-suggests-ban-on-high-caliber-9mm-no-rational-basis-for-it-in-terms-of-self-protection\" title=\"Biden Suggests Ban on \u2018High Caliber\u2019 9mm, \u2018No rational basis for it in terms of self-protection\u2019\">four Pinocchios<\/a>, which means it&#8217;s a &#8220;whopper&#8221; of a &#8220;false claim.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Constitution, the Second Amendment was never absolute. You couldn\u2019t buy a cannon when the Second Amendment was passed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several GOP lawmakers scorched the president for his astounding ignorance.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The 9mm is the most popular self-defense round in America, and the caliber of choice for his own Secret Service,&#8221; Oklahoma Senate candidate Rep. VP<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) added that Biden, \u201cfinally admitted how widespread the Socialist-Democrats\u2019 gun control agenda is when he calls for the banning of handguns that citizens use to keep their families safe from criminals.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Law-abiding Americans have a constitutional right to protection whether Joe Biden likes it or not,&#8221; Scalise continued. &#8220;Especially as crime rates soar in Democrat controlled cities across the country, now more than ever Americans are exercising their right to defend themselves from the violent criminals being released on the streets by \u2018defund the police\u2019 leftists.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-05-31\/biden-vows-to-meet-with-congress-on-gun-control-after-massacre\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"biden-suggests-ban-on-high-caliber-9mm-no-rational-basis-for-it-in-terms-of-self-protection\" title=\"Biden Suggests Ban on \u2018High Caliber\u2019 9mm, \u2018No rational basis for it in terms of self-protection\u2019\"> indicate that Biden plans to meet with lawmakers<\/a> in the coming days to discuss various gun control measures. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a positive note, at least Biden is somewhat aware of his own limitations, as he admitted to reporters Monday that he doesn\u2019t have the power to ban guns.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI can do the things I\u2019ve done and any executive action I can take, I\u2019ll continue to take. But I can\u2019t outlaw a weapon. I can\u2019t change a background check.
