President Joe Biden on Monday leveraged the four-year anniversary of the Parkland massacre to call on Congress to restrict the 2A rights of law-abiding citizens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While discussing what his administration has done to end the \u201cepidemic of gun violence\u201d \u2014 initiatives like, \u201ccurbing the proliferation of \u2018ghost\u2019 guns, cracking down on gun dealers who willfully violate the law, issuing model extreme risk protection order legislation for states, and promoting safe firearm storage\u201d \u2014 Biden said it\u2019s now time for Congress to act.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd Congress must do much more \u2014 beginning with requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers,\u201d said Biden in a statement<\/a> obtained by GunsAmerica. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe can never bring back those we\u2019ve lost. But we can come together to fulfill the first responsibility of our government and our democracy: to keep each other safe. For Parkland, for all those we\u2019ve lost, and for all those left behind, it is time to uphold that solemn obligation,\u201d the president concluded.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden\u2019s received a fair amount of criticism from anti-gun advocates for what they see as a lack of progress on the issue.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Parkland student David Hogg voiced his disappointment with the Biden administration during a Monday interview on CNN. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m disappointed,\u201d said Hogg. \u201cFrankly, if I could say one thing to the President, it\u2019s that we need you to go out and act right now before the next Parkland happens. There are things you can do right now to help prevent it that you have not done.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, Hogg wants Biden to create a gun czar position<\/a> at the federal level.  What he called \u201can office of gun violence prevention\u201d replete with a \u201cnational director to lead it now.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hogg did not delve into how exactly this new bureaucracy would “save lives” or prevent the “next Parkland.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the 21-year-old did blast pro-gun lawmakers and the NRA in a separate tweet, indicating that they are responsible for the criminal acts of drug dealers, gangsters, serial killers, and sociopaths. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Blood is on both your hands,” Hogg tweeted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fuck the NRA and especially fuck the politicians who say they support gun laws but never do anything after getting elected.
