A modern shotgun for modern times.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Shotgun design is pretty antiquated, especially here in the 21st century, but Genesis Arms set out to change that. The Gen-12 Shotgun<\/a> is a radical departure from tradition, but totally in line with modern firearms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stepping away from the traditional tube-fed shotguns, they basically brought the 12 gauge to the AR-10 platform, giving the shooter a shotgun with all of the controls and ergonomics of one of the most prolific rifles on the planet. And depending on what you are looking for, it is offered in different configurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gen-12 is offered in numerous barrel lengths, depending on the shooter’s needs.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Gen-12 is offered as a complete gun or can be purchased as an upper receiver, which will fit on most AR-10 DPMS-pattern lower receivers. The gun itself operates on a short recoil system, like a Glock pistol, with the barrel moving slightly to cycle the gun. But due to some pretty incredible innovation, their Vibe System, the recoil is significantly reduced, making it very easy to control even on full auto!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gen-12 is offered in numerous configurations, from short-barrel shotguns, to shotguns with 18-inch barrels as well as “firearms” which come standard with HyperFire Triggers and SBA3 telescoping pistol braces. The complete package costs around $2,800 and the upper receiver’s approximately $1,700.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They currently have 5- and 10-round magazines and are starting production on 7-round magazines as well. Their threaded barrels can be affixed with muzzle breaks, suppressors or even breaching attachments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the exception of a side charging handle, all of the ergonomics are the same as a standard AR-platform rifle. This allows most anyone familiar with the platform to pick up the Gen-12<\/a> and have a base level competence with the shotgun right out of the gate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
