Bonta<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/9th-circuit-upholds-californias-ban-on-large-capacity-magazines\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"stay-issued-californians-can-keep-prohibited-magazines-for-150-days-and-then-what\" title=\"Stay Issued: Californians Can Keep Prohibited Magazines for 150 Days, and then What?\">upheld the state\u2019s ban on 10-plus round mags<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the decision, questions were immediately raised about what would happen to those citizens currently in possession of the prohibited accessories.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith this stay, the Ninth Circuit has decided to allow Californians to continue possession of any magazines that were acquired during \u2018Freedom Week,\u2019 or prior to the ban taking effect\u2014for the time being,\u201d reported the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nraila.org\/articles\/20211221\/california-stay-issued-in-9th-circuit-magazine-ban-ruling-allowing-californians-to-continue-possession-of-lawfully-acquired-magazines\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"stay-issued-californians-can-keep-prohibited-magazines-for-150-days-and-then-what\" title=\"Stay Issued: Californians Can Keep Prohibited Magazines for 150 Days, and then What?\">NRA-ILA<\/a>, which is supporting the challenge to the mag ban. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe court agreed to stay the mandate from its decision for 150 days, to May 19, 2022,\u201d NRA-ILA continued.\u00a0 \u201cThe court\u2019s order further stays the mandate until the U.S. Supreme Court disposes of a petition for certiorari, should one be filed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/holiday-travel-means-securing-firearms-in-the-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"stay-issued-californians-can-keep-prohibited-magazines-for-150-days-and-then-what\" title=\"Stay Issued: Californians Can Keep Prohibited Magazines for 150 Days, and then What?\">Holiday Travel Means Securing Firearms in the Home<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Plaintiffs in the case, including the California Rifle &amp; Pistol Association (CRPA), indicated that they would appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alan Gottlieb, the founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, believes the high court will ultimately strike down the mag ban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is just a matter of time until the United States Supreme Court overturns this 9th Circus decision,\u201d he told GunsAmerica via email. \u201cIt could even happen before this ruling is directly appealed when they rule on the current New York case which is before them.
