FN America is announcing two new FN 15 rifles starting the TAC3 series with the TAC3 and TAC3 Duty. These rifles feature FN’s new in-house designed furniture including 6-position carbine stocks, ergonomic pistol grips, polymer magazines, and ambidextrous controls in four different patterns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe modern sporting rifle category is the most popular segment of our market,” said FN Vice President Chris Cole. “It serves consumers looking for a rifle for shooting sports, hunting, home defense, and general use on the range.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“These customers, whether new to rifles or experienced, now have access to a professional quality line of rifles with the FN 15 TAC3 and TAC3 Duty,” he added. “If you’re in the market for a rifle that is easily configurable to your needs, delivers superior accuracy, and is highly reliable, then the FN 15 TAC3 is for you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of the TAC3 rifles are built around FN’s renowned proprietary DIN Spec 21CrMoV5-11 steel cold-hammer-forged 16-inch government profile barrels that are chrome-lined for extended barrel life. They have mid-length gas systems and, paired with free-floating handguards, offer accuracy in addition to durability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The difference between the TAC3 and the TAC3 Duty is the handguard. The TAC3 features a Hodge Defense wedge lock handguard while the Duty version comes with a Midwest Industries handguard. Both are modular with M-Lok slots on the sides and bottom with a Picatinny rail at the 12 o’clock position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That makes the base TAC3 the premium model in the series, with the Duty the more affordable working man’s gun. The standard model TAC3 is also offered in black, flat dark earth and tungsten gray, while the TAC3 Duty is only offered in black. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TAC3 Duty is also slightly lighter at about 6.5 pounds unloaded. The TAC3 weighs 7 pounds even. Both come with ambidextrous Radian Raptor charging handles and Radian Talon selector levers. They also both come with MIL-SPEC Carpenter 158 full-auto rated M16 bolt carrier groups and run heavy H buffers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both of the new TAC3 configurations are great options for anyone looking for a complete rifle out of the box. The TAC3 has a suggested price of $1,729 while the Duty model is a bit more affordable at $1,599. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
