Tom Gresham and the Gun Talk Radio family are celebrating over 25 years of radio programming with the limited edition GT25<\/a>, a Ruger Custom Shop 1911 Commander chambered for 10mm Auto. The nationally syndicated radio show with a focus on firearms and gun policy first aired in 1995. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We had planned for the GT25 to be released last year, which was the 25th anniversary of Gun Talk Radio on the air,\u201d said Gun Talk Media President Ryan Gresham. “Unfortunately, constraints of COVID-19 delayed it a year, but I know shooters will agree it\u2019s worth the wait. The first time I shot this compact 10mm I was startled at the light recoil from such a powerful cartridge. Using an all-steel frame on the brilliant 1911 platform makes it a dream to shoot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Commander-style 1911, the GT25 has a compact 4.25-inch barrel and slide assembly, and an 8+1-round capacity in 10mm Auto. It’s a traditionally styled 1911 with a short dustcover without a rail. The stainless steel slide and frame have a black nitride finish for added protection and lubricity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hand-fit pistol comes standard with black and blue machined G10 grips and the frame has a 25 lines-per-inch checkered front strap and a matching checkered mainspring housing for improved control when shooting hot cartridges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internally the GT25 has a precision-machined cylinder and slide hammer, sear, disconnector and sear spring. It sports a traditional left-side manual thumb safety, an extended beavertail grip safety and a medium straight match trigger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise the GT25 includes a competition barrel, a fitted barrel lug, a fitted barrel bushing and a target crown for match-grade accuracy. Despite being an all-stainless steel handgun, owing to the compact design, the GT25 weighs just a little over 36 ounces unloaded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other features of the GT25 include a Novak tritium-powered night sight and black Novak low mount adjustable rear sight as well as a laser-engraved Ruger Custom Shop logo on the left side of the slide and a Gun Talk Radio badge on the right. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This is a pistol for those who want the best,” said Gun Talk Radio host Tom Gresham. “We started the design with the time-proven 1911 design, added the input from the specialists at Lipsey’s and the Ruger Custom Shop, and created an easy-shooting, easy-to-carry 10mm classic that I personally count on for protection from any predator up to and including bears.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
