The Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund announced this week it would be spending $3M on its \u201cDemand a Seat<\/a>\u201d campaign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A program designed to recruit and train at least 200 volunteers to run for office during the 2021-2022 election cycle and beyond into 2024, the Demand a Seat campaign seeks to place gun controllers in government at the federal, state, and local levels.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDemand a Seat will harness the grassroots momentum and volunteer base of one of the largest advocacy organizations in the country to recruit and train volunteers to take the next step in their advocacy by running for office on a platform of gun safety,\u201d said the organization in a press release obtained by GunsAmerica.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDemand a Seat will provide educational training on how to build and run winning campaigns as a gun safety candidate,\u201d it continues.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While some in the pro-gun community may dismiss the viability of such a program given polls that indicate<\/a> only about half of American adults want stricter gun laws, the truth is the Demand a Seat program has already paid dividends for the man financing the operation, anti-gun czar Michael Bloomberg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Moms Demand Action, the grassroots arm of Everytown, stated, \u201cTo date, 50 former volunteers with Moms Demand Action have been elected to state legislatures, 18 have been elected to city or county councils, and eight have been elected to school boards, among other offices.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group also succeeded in getting two activists, Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-06) and Rep. Marie Newman (IL-03), into Congress.  More will be on their way if this initiative goes as planned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSince the beginning of Moms Demand Action, our volunteers have fought to get a seat at the table, support lawmakers who are doing the right thing, and replace those who are standing in the way of gun safety,\u201d said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe more we’ve worked and grown, the more often that has meant filling those seats with our own volunteers,\u201d she continued. \u201cDemand a Seat formalizes this evolution and will provide education and guidance to help these leaders take that next step from advocating to writing laws.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomberg’s gun-control machine is not slowing down. In fact, quite the opposite. It continues to expand its power and reach. It currently owns most of Hollywood<\/a>, Big Business<\/a>, Big Tech<\/a>, Big Banks,<\/a> Mainstream Media<\/a>, and the Democratic Party<\/a>. The only thing it doesn’t yet control is we the people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But with virtually unlimited resources at its disposal, Bloomberg’s worth an estimated $59 billion, and the collective pressure we face from all of those institutional forces, we the people have our work cut out for us if we expect to retain our 2A rights for generations to come. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I’m being 100 percent honest, I don’t like our chances long term. What say you? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
