Auto-Ordnance is teaming up with Outlaw Ordnance to produce the Bootleggers<\/a>, two iconic Prohibition-era firearms, the Thompson and the Model 1911. Both feature faux patina finishes, stylized engraving and artfully scribed American walnut stocks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Thompson is often called the ‘gun that made the ’20’s roar,’ but it was not the only reason for that saying,” said Auto-Ordnance. “In fast cars with loads of moonshine, 1920s bootleggers roared down country roads, evading the law and delivering white lightning to speakeasies.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Lawmen raced after the motor bandits, wielding Tommy Guns and 1911s. It was not long before Hollywood depicted these duels on the big screen. The Roaring 20s blazed a trail into American pop culture and history.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Auto-Ordnance is devoted to preserving American History, and the Bootlegger series invokes images of the roaring ’20s — a time people find fascinating,” said Kahr Firearms Group Director Jodi DePorter. “Owning one of these guns is truly owning a piece of American history.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both are full-size firearms chambered for .45 ACP. The Thompson has a 16.5-inch finned barrel with “Speakeasy” printed on both sides. One side of the receiver reads “Bootlegger Prohibition Edition” and the other ‘”Proof Tennessee Moonshine.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1911 is marked “Bootlegger Prohibition Edition” on one side of the slide, while the other says “White Lightning.” The heavily decorated walnut stocks on both firearms showcase scenes from the ’20s, including cars from the era, newsprints, wanted posters and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bootlegger Thompson ships with one 20-round stick magazine and one 50-round drum where available, while the Bootlegger 1911 ships with a standard 7-round mag. The distressed bronze Cerakote finish on both guns is overlaid with a clear coat for added protection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
